I drove by today as well, ski boats in general seem scarce. I believe we have 2 members who frequent there.

Yeah the 2001 sold pretty quick. Totally agree, pontoons are all the rage these days!

As a largely retirement community, our lake was and still is mostly tooners. Some people made the the upgrade to the flat fiberglass hulled deckboats that still look like tooners. And like you said above, they think they have "speed boats". Nothing looks sillier than a tooner screaming up the lake at 22 mph. And of course, even they are used for tubing.

But now on our lake, it seems all the rage is the new deck boats that are kind of combination tooner and family I/O.

Seems that just about every new boat is one of these. Too big for our little lake, and of course the only thing they are used for is tubing. We recently moved to the main part of the lake vs the no wake zone we used to live in. Our shoreline gets clobbered from 1 til 5 every weekend afternoon because of these monsters.

“So, how was your weekend?”
“Well, let me see…sun burn, stiff neck, screwed up back, assorted aches and pains….yup, my weekend was great, thanks for asking.”
