We're on the fence. Wedding at the lake that weekend and it's one of the few young couples we hang out with. If it were anyone else (outside family) we'd be a lock for GL.
Not sure how everything will pan out but I still have some hope to make a portion of the GL festivities. |

Late Saturday night arrival for some Goose Blinding then home Sunday night. Barely a 24 hour stay but I've driven further for less.

Can I getc some tips to bribe my dad to take us here this summer? Another thing is, are there costs for going? I've read the previous posts about registration and was wondering how much that would be. Last question, what are the sleeping options? Thanks for help in advance.

Lots of Correct Crafts from every era, and a lot of cool people that share a passion for these boats. That should be enough right there.... I don't recall the exact price for registration, but it's not at all unreasonable. It seems like $40 for the boat and one person, and $10 for each additional person? That could be a little off, but it's not very expensive regardless. In the past, this has gotten you a shirt, hat, some other cc goodies, a meal on Saturday night, and some entries into a raffle with some very generous prizes. Sleeping arrangements are pretty limited. There's Hattie Sherwood Campground, which ccfans usually take over for the weekend. There is a boat launch right on sight. The Lakeview is also a popular hotel. Right downtown across from the lake, and more importantly, next door to the Goose Blind. The Bayview is another hotel, right on the lake with it's own boat launch. Jump on something now, as the hotels are small and fill fast. We'll be at the Bayview, and I'm pretty sure they're full for the weekend. I'm sure one of the locals will chime in with more, but hopefully that gets you started. Make it happen....it will be worth it. Rob |

Rob was pretty correct, however there is always a place to stay in Green Lake. Green Lake Inn Dartford Inn Numerous B&B's in town Multiple camp grounds Just google the Green Lake Chamber of Commerce and search places to stay.. Correct, entrance isn't that much and you'd be fed two nights Just have to tell him it's a "Official Reuinion", the biggest in the country. Expect to see 30-50 boats there of all years. Meeting a bunch of really great people, talking boats over a couple of cold beers, what else can he be doing that weekend?? Make it Happen !!! If he has any specific questions, have him PM me through the site and I'll be happy to discuss the weekend with him. We've been doing this a long time...... Dave |

There are also three hotels in Ripon; Comfort Inn and Suites, Ripon Welcome Inn and Boarders Inn and Suites. Ripon is about a 15 minute drive to the east.

Does Dad like to chase the little white ball around the course? Their are two nationally ranked courses in the area; Tuscumbia which has views that overlook Green Lake and Mascoutin about a 15 minute drive to the north. Both courses have hosted "state level" tournaments.

Does Dad like to hunt or fish, I have hunting land nearby, that I would be happy to let him hang out and spend a day in the woods (only you fellow hunters would understand the attraction of a day in the woods in the middle of summer). Green Lake is one of the most unique fishing destinations, the lake is loaded with panfish, sport fish (bass and walleye) as well as "big lake" style Lake trout - so there is a lot of varied fishing activity that is available, again I might be able to find him a fishing boat with trolling motor.

Lastly, its not just 30 to 50 boats, but one of a kind Correct Crafts, I believe there will be a fully restored Gen1 Ski Nautique making the show this year, and if I can talk my parents into it, an original condition Gen1 Ski Nautique. Hopefully Pete will bring his meticulously restored Atom (although I would like to see his Tique, as that is the only boat of his I have yet to see) and of course I am sure Allen will bring the Hurricane and there will be many other Restored classics and Resto mods, perhaps we even have the biggest gathering of Promo Ski Nautiques, that would be COOL.
I'd be happy to talk to your Dad as well. Here is another tack - are you thinking about colleges yet, I got a contact at Ripon college we could set up a tour, that could be another reason to come - I'm reaching here... |

Justin, it's really a great time for any age, size family or just a guys weekend with you and Dad.
I finally got my dad to join us for a CCF event this year and he's still talking about how much fun he had that weekend. He had met some of the guys and stopped for a day at some of the events but never the full experience. Now he's talking about getting to a few more before the end of the year! The boats are great, the food is good and for dad the beer is cold. More importantly, this group is extremely welcoming and will make sure you guys have a good time. Show up without a boat and you'll have no problem catching a ride. As you can see with Steve's hospitality, you guys will make friends quickly and have a great time! Other highlights - Tim's Barefoot Nautique - the wildest ride ever. Alan's Hurricane - Coolest wood boat....ever. |

And there is always the surprise factor with these correct craft boats, I believe there are some rumors about some new never seen before boats that might make a showing, these also could turn out to be "Wildest Ride Ever" category. I am thinking specifically about Connorsons Seperator - come on, a lightened, stroked consumer grade bat boat - I just hope it shoots flames as well!!!

And if you're in need of a spine compression the ride to the sandbar in the middle of the afternoon will take care of that.
It's probably the easiest way to ride new things behind different boats. |

Guys, I just called and cancelled my room at the BayView for the weekend. I got a room a month or so ago but decided the campground is the place for us. So if you interested in going but not into camping, call bill at the Bayview. He was booked....now he has 1 room open.

If we were to go, we'd bring out boat most likely. We Wouldn't Have To Stay At A Hotel Since We Have no Tent and We wouldnt Take Our Camper. I can't go to the goose since I'd be 14. But I truly want a ride in this list of boats: Petes Atom, Alan's hurricane, Trbenjs barefoot, storms lovely blue ski nautique, any other boat. I Hope I can make it there guys, I'll show him this thread and see what he says. Also for those who said have him pm you, he doesn't have an account on here. Maybe I should get him signed up!

Justin, I completely understand the impression you have of the Goose from the reports of GL on site. It's a restaurant and then of course does have the bar area. You along with a guardian would be welcome. |

Justin,
Each year everyone has to draw straws to see who will be Chris Quinner's guardian at the Goose Blind and he is 51 years old. The short straw gets the duty. I hope you get to attend, you will not be disappointed. Reid Pinkham always has a Hot Rod boat to ride in. He has one or three to choose from. Donald |

Actually in the state of Wisconsin Justin not only can be in a bar his parent can buy and serve him a drink legally!! As Pete mentioned though, it is a restaurant with a bar in it.

I always thought it was a bar with a restaurant in it.

For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

So I'm guessing quinner gets a bit wild at the goose? Would be cool to see you all there. Also, I've seen pictures of Reid'S mustang and it looks really nice. Also that blue skier. |

He was actually on his best behavior last year,no boats were damaged and all kept running so the tool box did not even make an appearance.I volunteered since it was an off year,so I am off the list for this time around.

I guess as a "rookie" I should take on the responsibility especially since our camp sites are next to each other, but after a full day of drinking my wife would attests that I need a chaperon
