Yep Jim it was pretty cool. Shouda kept the yellow raincoats as a momento.
Actually my nautical experience predates my birth.....as my pregnant mother spent considerable time bouncing around Keuka Lake in a Resorter that long ago summer of 61.... |

Peter,
My sister and her husband live in Cooperstown, well actually about 6 miles north of the village on Rt 88 on the west side of Otsego Lake. They live on the lake. I just tried to track her down, but couldn't. They are either in Cooperstown, the Keys or somewhere in between as it was right about now that they were going to return north from their winter in FL. Unfortunately its a tad early. A few weeks from now their dock will be in the water and their Malibu in the lift and they always like company and entertaining. Oh well, next time. Don't miss wandering around town (especially if you are a baseball fan, a billion little souvenir shops) go down to the waterfront. If you head north on 88 up to 20, about 6 miles up, you will see the Thayer SUNY Oneonta nature center or something like that. That is my sisters neighbor. It used to be the Thayer farm and also a small marina. You can drive down to what used to be the marina for another view of the lake. My sisters place is the white one to the south of the Thayer property. Enjoy...its beautiful country. |

“So, how was your weekend?” “Well, let me see…sun burn, stiff neck, screwed up back, assorted aches and pains….yup, my weekend was great, thanks for asking.” |

thanks guys we loved the canadian side and did the replacement for the maid of the mist we went behind the falls and to the table rock below. we stayed on the 31st floor of the embassy suites we felt it might be the best of the views there are. Fort niagara is highly recommended . (that was about it on the american side worth mentioning) weloved the vineyard tours on the road to niagara by the lake . we re pretty disgusted with the service and people in the service industry there. rudeness ,costs were so high and over all very unfriendly in what is surely one of the most beautiful natural wonders in the world. cooperstown , the hall of fame , the food and the locals were one of the best experiences we have ever had ..cute downtown the air is fresh and is highly recommended

I was in Otsego Lake last summer. Lovely, lovely water. Not an easy place to find convenient trailer parking, though (unless you're there at a really "off" time)!
Glad you had a nice trip. |
