Thank you to all the great ccfans/ccfamilys who served and/or sacrificed for their country.
For thousands of years men have felt the irresistible urge to go to sea, and many of them died. Things got better after they invented boats.

Went to the local war memorial here in town for a service at 11:00am. Was cool to see lots of people there to pay respects for those who paid the ultimate sacrifice. Speeches given, poems read but cried about 4 times today as one played guitar and sang a song he wrote for his Little brother KIA 3 months into his tour in Vietnam. A second as Amazing Grace was played on the Bag Pipes, a third when a bugler played Taps, and the fourth as I left I saw the brick being my Dads name and service date.

Thank you to those who served and to those fans who've lost loved ones so that we Americans left behind remain free!

So Tim, if you've 48 by my math was he in Vietnam?

My brothers father-in-law just died this week at 93. Rode a glider into Normandy on D-Day, a real hero, not many of them left.

On the other side of the coin, my friend just took his father to the 70th commemorative at Auschwitz, where he'd amazingly survived his teenage years. Let's not forget the civilians who also suffered the strife of war.
