I just swapped out my plugs and wanted to know what you guys thought about how they looked.
I thought they were supposed to have a slight brown (toasted marshmallow) appearance to them. Mine are pretty white. Do I need to fatten up my mixture or am I good? These plugs have roughly 150 hours on them. Boat runs great from what I can tell. 1808hours on her. Just changed the oil and she was right on the full mark prior to the oil change. Doesn't appear to be burning any oil. Here she is after the plug swap on the hose. |

I concur.
Looks just right. Looks like they would out of a FI engine. The real indicator is the width of the soot ring at the base of the insulator. But overall, white is good, Grey is BAD. Cocoa you have uncorked performance In summary, go skiing. |

Sorry about the double post, idk why it does that sometimes. I've been paying just over $3 a piece and at the rate I'm going through them it's adding up.

Mine run white too. If it was a 2 stroke I'd be worried. It ain't knocking so it must be running pretty clean.

True. I used to have 2 jetskis before getting the boat ('88 650SX and a '93 Blaster). The plugs in them were always golden brown and the motors were far from stock. I'm psyched the plugs are as clean as they are considering the number of hours on the old girl. |
