I've been into boats for years mostly out boards. I love to buy them clean them up play on them for a while then sell them then start a new project. Well about 7 years ago I was coming in to the dock and saw the coolest boat ever. It was a 1979 cc ski tiqeu. I've been looking for one ever since. And I found one a week ago! So I'm going through it and have some questions. The first might show my ignorance but here it goes. On my boat you pull back the throtitle to go forward. Is that right, if no how do I fix it?
If you only knew.

No, not right & IMO unsafe to boot.

Something is hooked up backwards. Maybe others will give a diagnostic approach.

If the PO sold it this way, I'd be scrutinizing all systems for similar hacking.

If yours is already in the flipped positions, put it back like the picture.

Thank you for the info. Yes its very unsafe but I wasn't sure if for some reason they built it that way. I'll switch the cables asap. Thanks again. I think this guy has tweeted a few things. I think he might have rerouted the cooling system. Can some one post pics of the cooling set up for a ford 302? The distributor is on the d driver side of the motor.
If you only knew.

Could the prop be a LH prop vs. RH prop?

Joel could also be right. Look at your prop before monkeying with the shift cable.

We might need some photographs. I don't know anything about tweeted, but I do know if your distributor is on the drivers side, you might not have a 302.

I'm sorry I was typing faster then I was thinking. I'll get pics up tomorrow. What I was trying to say was the alternator is on the driver side. The distributor is in the middle of the motor on top. And I was trying to say tweaked not tweet.
If you only knew.
