I'm looking for a fuel pump for my 70 Chrysler LM 318. Anybody have one?

Brian,
Do you still have the pump? If so, rebuild it. |

Pete. I know we have discussed this before. If the pump he has does not have the screws to hold it together and is a molded bottom how does he/we rebuild them? Are there parts available? I have searched high and low with no success. Carter quit manufacturing the marine style pumps and now people I have been in contact with are reccomending an electric retro fit.

Bill run your questions past these guys and see what they say. Just email them with the numbers off your pump. If that does not work see if they will rebuild yours assuming you cannot get a new one. They were able to provide a kit for mine. One nice thing about a more current engine than a Chrysler, many PCM parts like that still fit so something is still out there. Good luck

Bill,
Rivets are ground off and replaced with machine screws. Who is it you have been talking to that what's to destroy a classic with an electric fuel pump? A manufacturer of electric pumps?? BTW, there's a good chance that in 72, the pump was not a marine type. |

Thanks Gary I will look them up. Pete-the one I have is not screwed or riveted. The bottom piece that holds the diaphragm is molded. I will check with the people at the link provided Thanks

I have a newer style pump and that is what I was trying to explain about not being rebuildable. Nice to see they are back on the market albeit 2X the price!

Brian,
Did you find a pump or are you going the rebuild route? |
