Have you unhooked the vacuum line on the pressure regulator and see if the idle changes?

It could be as simple as someone bumped the bracket.that hold the throttle cable in place.. Can you send a picture of the bracket and throttle body with the spark arrestor off

Disconnect the throttle cable from the throttle body. It is only 1 nut and note the location of the washer so you reinstall the same. Does it idle down? What is the volts read on the throttle position sensor when at idle? It should be about 1..05 or less. Best under just under 1..

Idle Air Control Valve possibly?

Solution would be to clean or replace.

Forgive me - brain fart! 1996 Correct Craft with GT-40. Do not have Perfect Pass but do have Accuski. Have checked operation of the throttle control box of the Accuski and it is not hanging up (acting normally).

Do you have perfect pass on it?
Hobby Boats can be expensive when the hobbyist is limited on their own skill and expertise.

We run a 1965 Nautique with a GT-40. Occasionally (not all the time) when we idle down from "high throttle" the idle down does not respond and the engine "runs away" and we need to resort to turning the engine off. Sometimes engine will restart at idle normally. Other times engine is hard to start, will crank several revolutions, then stop cranking. This may happen a couple of times. If repeated enough, (and sometimes with a little throttle) engine will start.

What's going on. As usual intermittent problems are a pain.

All help appreciated.
