I have a stack of them.   What boat do you want to put it in?

Motorbox covers motor. Dog House is where you sleep after bringing home too many boats.

Couldn't you still call a 3 sided box that covers the engine a motorbox?

A doghouse is a motorbox but not all motorboxes are doghouses.

I think "Dog House" must be a mid western term. I've never heard it anywhere, but on CCF from you guys.

Yes,   Slang for a 3 sided motor-box.   A 4 sided motor-box is still just a motor-box.

Scott,
Don't let Al (DrCC) bother you with the terminology. He's only been around boats for 60 years and still doesn't realize that a dog house in the boating crowd is sl*g for the motor box!

Would a motor-box work ???

A doghouse would be an Open-front motor-box.

Motor-box - enclosed on all 4 sides.
Doghouse - enclosed on 3 sides.

You will want to be more specific- what year, and boat are you looking to put it in? Which engine does it need to fit over? You trying to stay original, or just need something that will fit?
