Looking for a Ford Y-block 312 and crankshaft in rebuildable condition. I don't want to have to sleeve it, so cylinders need to be pretty close to 3.80" and no cracks or gouges.

Would also be interested to hear about any other Y-block parts that you might have.

You can email me direct at first initial + last name at nautique dot com no spaces. Or PM me through the site.

Yes, most especially if it's a RH rotation and even more especially if it's a 312, but I would consider a 292 or a LH of either.

Pete,
That's not even a Y block. Were you looking for an FE?

Which FE is that (352/390/427)? I know someone looking for one... Feel free to PM me the details if you're not purchasing it yourself:

If it's 240 hp as advertised, it's a 352. I am actually looking for a RH 292 or 312. I think the 352 is going to be too tall for what I want. And I don't think the side-draft manifold with fit it.

That's an early FE with that breather cap on the intake. Intake for a 312 definitely will not fit an FE. That engine looks very complete.

I think I've pretty much decided that I want a 312 but might accept a 292. A 292 cannot be made into a "true" 312 because the journals are bigger in the 312. I do appreciate your efforts.

Pete,
Did you take another look at the engine? Ever though it's not the Y block Art is looking for, I'm still curious about the FE.

There's a '57 LH on craigslist in MO.     BUT,   he don't know if it's 292 or 312.   And it looks real crusty.   And I think it's locked-up.

Art,

Will a Mercury 312 work? There's a guy on CL with one locally, missing 1 head though.

I'll check it out. Mercury is the same engine; in fact they used more 312s that Ford did, because they put it in Lincolns and a lot of the big sedans.
Thanks!!

No problem, glad to help. If it doesn't pan out, there's this 292 as well.
