John, I live in Huron Ohio. I will likely keep the boat at a Marina near first Street in Sandusky. I envision sking in the small Bay behind the Cedar point causeway. That looks like a stretch of water well protected from Lake Erie.

small world....passed thru Huron countless friday nights before rt 2 was extended thru outside of town. Used to buy the very best sweet corn anywhere in Huron. Sunday night traffic jams in town...LOL.
G Continue on rt 2 until you get to the Bayview exit. Head towards the Bay. Turn left when the road ends....should be a marina with a ramp..cant remember the name. You can ski between the railroad bridge and the old rt 2 bridge. Or continue on west under the high level rt 2 bridge and turn south. good skiing along there..west of the bridge. lots of good memories skiing up there. john |

I was referring to the V Drive Super Sports. I believe the Direct Drive boats have mufflers. Would be worth a test drive though. |

Dual exhaust, I think some sort of baffles or small mufflers. Definitely not straight pipe loud but significantly louder than a GT-40.

My wife calls the GT 40 the electric boat. Our first boat was incredibly loud and a lot less powerful.

Good spot - be careful of water depths through there as the bottom terrain changes alot as you are around the bridges. Wondering how no one had you place a pic of the boat on this thread yet!!! |

Huh...... Crazy. That was deleted within the last 10 minutes. I have a visit all set up with the guy first thing Saturday morning. Maybe he is confident that I will love it. I did tell him that I would come ready to buy as long as the test drive went well.

I would call to see if you still have an appointment Saturday, I have a feeling someone already walked in with a fist full of cash.
The '97 for $13,950 would be my choice, he already reduced once shows a motivated seller could possibly do better than that price if you flash the green. I do like the slant backs more than the bubble backs, but I prefer the earth tone colors. |

I thought for sure you were looking at this one:
Python Do be patient! Keep in mind in fall you can knock at least 15% of asking if you already have access to a boat. Good luck and have fun. As you can probably sense, we are peoples who love to buy/shop for boats! |

I just got a call from the seller.
He and his wife had a heart to heart and they decided to keep the boat. It is "a special boat." Dang. Time to get a better deal now. |

At first I thought it was strange he didn't fix the transom sticker and then I realized he probably made it "Boa" on purpose as a play on the Python snake theme haha. The purple piping is a nice touch too. |

And one to grow on....
Another 1997 Strangely in the exact town as the 1996. Same colors as the other 2. Some pictures look white.... Some look cream. I guess I will see in person. |

Also.... Last question... But likely the most important....
3 of these boats have the cream color scheme... What is everyone's thoughts on the cream boat? I can't decide if I like it. Deal breaker? The cream models have the desired hull, engine, lower hours.... |

It's personal preference. I personally prefer white but would choose the better boat/deal rather then the color. Not sure if it's been said but don't discount the trailer. A new trailer will cost 4k or more and used ones in good condition are hard to find. I picked up my 95 sport in the fall without a trailer for 7k, got a used trailer for 600 but just didn't like having to deal with fixing up the trailer, so ended up spending just under 4k for a new single axle. Things like covers, Bimini's and other equipment can make a big difference in the final cost of getting the boat setup so also factors these in when comparing deals. |

I don't care much for the cream, too geezer looking for me. However if you're very anal in cleaning and details like myself, cream will hide much much more than white, especially on the interior. All 3 of the boats you've listed seem high price according to my wallet..... Don't get in a hurry.... This is not the season to buy a boat.

Well....
I touched base with the Python owner again. He may consider selling for full asking price. New interior. Red and white boat. $18,995. Pricey. Worth it? |

The price is right.
Would the extra few thousand be worth the 1997 hull and gt-40? |

Only you can decide this. Maybe before committing you should drive them and see since you are a first time owner. |
