Just wondering if anyone has used Mercury marine oil in their boats, what did you think of it ? Still unclear what the real difference is between auto v. Marine oil

Besides the $$, check out the ZDDP level if you plan on using it in a flat tappet engine.

I read the link. Seems to be written from a salesman's point of view.
Some gray areas could be argued. Overall educational. |

For those of you that are looking for a 15-40 marine oil. Look into Amsoil they have a synthetic marine oil. It has High ZDDP, and it is a rust preventative for when you have the boat in storage. I have been running it for years and it is diesel approved.

Oooh Amsoil. I use Amsoil in my Harley and love it..I was wondering about switching my 93 SN over from Dino oil to Full synthetic. I may go with Amsoil....what filter do you use?
