I don't like the visible mast light wiring on my boat's windshield. Anyone familiar with these old CC know if the wiring can be run through the aluminum window frame and down through the bottom? Aren't the frames hollow for the most part? Pix 1 & 3 are pre-restoration pix.

That's exactly the setup I had. Removed it because I did not like it at all. I wondered about the wire routing myself but never took the time. I just live without it and hope the small light on the back is sufficient. So far it has been.

Robert,
The frame extrusions are hollow but it may not be that easy. I'd use a bell hangers bit to drill down the center from the top.

For safety sake, I would want the masthead light at the highest point on my boat when operating at night. But with the transom light on at least, there's something. I like the look of the masthead light personally. Thanks.

On the ski Tique windshield I removed (virtually the same frame) the left front window hooked into the right front window filling any hollow spots in the middle, you can see how it connects together by looking at the top of the window, it is the same all the way to the bottom.

And my mustang has another piece of trim to cover the wires all the way down.

If you look under the dash, there should be another hole - forward and slightly port of the existing.   Wire should exit in the center of the light bracket.
Take the light bracket off, you should see a hole in the w/s frame. Clothes hanger works better than an actual wire phish. And yes it will be a p-i-t-a.
Keep it....from sinkin'
