My boat's on a lift in a slip on a Northeast OK lake. I don't want to do a complete winterize as the weather can change from freezing temps to beautiful warm cruising conditions within a week. Can I run TV (pink) antifreeze through the engine and shut it off with the cooling system full? How effective would that be against engine freeze damage?

You need to drain first but at that point why bother with the antifreeze? Air won't crack your block.

"Winterize" means different things to different people. Get the water out and you'll be safe.

You are probably about as south as I am, and I do what Hollywood suggests. I come from "up north" so I am used to the whole, drain, fog, antifreeze, stabil, and let it sit for 6 months routine, but since moving to NC I drain: open up block drains, unhook 2 hoses to blow the water out of my transmission cooler and then put everything back together for the next time. The boat is always ready to go back in the water for those nicer than normal weather day ski runs. Take the boat out at the end of the runs and lather-rinse-repeat. Takes about 10 minutes.

“So, how was your weekend?”
“Well, let me see…sun burn, stiff neck, screwed up back, assorted aches and pains….yup, my weekend was great, thanks for asking.”
