Hi Everyone, I'm new here but I have been a correct craft owner and fan for a long time! I am currently working on custom restoration of a 1973 Wake Nautique that I purchased about 10 years ago, but have finally got my hands in the motor. My boat has a Chrysler LM360 counter rotating motor and I am having some confusion hooking up the Raw water cooling system. The wifey is bugging me to get off the computer but I will upload some pictures of where I am at in the morning. If anyone has a diagram or pictures that they could share, it would be a great help!

Thanks everyone in advance!!! I feel like I am hitting my head against a wall and its probably just a simple fix.

Jared,
Welcome to CCfan. Yes, pictures would be great so we know where you're at.

Once you get that 360 running, I suggest getting another computer!

Okay here are some pictures. It looks a little rough right now, but I plan on tightening everything up once it is running correctly.

Jared,

The Chrysler cooling systems are probably the most complex, with the two pickups and double chamber pumps. There are guys here who have figured them out though. If you havent found it yet, in the reference section above, there is an old chrysler engine manual that has a number of cooling system diagrams, one of which may resemble yours.

I didn't realize you had a Chrysler LM360. I know the Crusader/ Merc Chevy small block inside and out.. I'm kinda lost on a Chrysler. I will ask around and see if I can find anything out from a few friends..

Thanks mob,

I think I am going to try to swap some hoses around tomorrow.

Hopefully I can figure it out.

I would highly recommend installing a spark arresting air filter on it. One big back fire and, you know how that story goes.   Also keep a fire extinguisher handy when you fire it up. You would hate to have all that hard work go up in flames.

Isn't that Edelbrock a spark arrestor? I had one on an olds 455 in a boat I used to have.

I thought anything with metal mesh surrounding it served as a flame arrestor. Wrong?

It has to be a fine mesh. The effect has something to do with cooling the flame so it can't sustain itself I think.
