   The problem with draining the tank for the winter, especially with metal tanks, is that temperature fluctuations cause water to condense out of the air and accumulate in the tank.  If you store the boat with a full tank there is much less air which results in much less condensed water in the tank.

I use Stabil only when the boat is winterized and I've never had a fuel problem on either my '02 or '79.  In the '79 I shine a flashlight down the filler neck regularly and the tank looks clean as can be

	Run the boat nearly empty before winter, run Stabili through as you winterize it, drain whats left for your snow blower in the winter. Start the season with a fresh tank in the spring. Takes this whole issue out of play essentially.

	I'd put it in if it were cheap. Gas is already expensive enough.

	Use Stabil every season to winterize. Usually keep the tank totally filled to reduce moisture buildup. Drained and removed the tank to work on the floor. The last gallon of fuel that came out was thick with contaminants. No way am I blaming the Stabil. Just thinking that from now on I will totally drain the tank each season and put in fresh fuel with Stabil.

	wastingyour money by using it every fill up......who lets their boat sit for 30 days in the spring summer even fall?....only time i use it is when putting it to sleep for the winter

	Wanted to run this past you guys. Shortly after I bought my boat, I contacted Indmar and their tech support guys (who were awesome I might add) about a few different questions I had on my engine. As the conversation kept going, the tech stated to me that they recommend running Stabil in the fuel ALL the time. Not just when you store the boat for long periods. He said that they (Indmar) found out that the fuel can start to break down and start the varnish process in as little as 30 days. How long has the fuel been in the tank at the gas station before you put it in your boat? Especially if you run premium. They found that Stabil prevented numerous fuel/carb related problems if it was used all the time. I started using it since then and I haven't had a single carb related issue but I have no idea if it's just dumb luck or does the premium have the additives that helps prevent that already or is it the Stabil? I did rebuild the carb five or six years ago, but more as preventative maintenance vs. troubleshooting maintenance. I would just be interested to find out your thoughts.
