Long time lurker of CCF here and finally pulled the trigger on an 81 Mustang. Has some areas for improvement; however, main concern at the moment is how it sits in the water,

Thought some experienced owners might know if this is a normal ride height or not.

Welcome. Looks good to me. They ride low. Yes, an 81 might have soaked foam and be a little heavier and ride a little lower, but like I said, that looks ok to me.

Admittedly, I have a little more of a load here, but, I like this pic, as it depicts that low ride.

Tip: When you turn back to pick up a dropped skier, blip the throttle when you cross your wake.

I've had water over the windshield when I forgot to do this!

With only one person in boat it will down on that side. That why it's hard to load on trailer driver must sit in middle of boat to level it out so it will not fall between the trailer runners. Hope this helps

Hey Woody,

Maybe Heyday is on to something with their "center Console" wake boats. You guys should have thought of that back in the day of the 16 and 17 footers....Well on second thought.....maybe not..

I sure agree!!
Also Larry's idea of balancing weight with a center console would work but, that's only if the boat had an I/O with counter rotating dual props counteracting prop torque. What engine/drive system does that ugly thing come with? I'm have to do a search out of curiosity!!

EDIT: Looks like a V/D so no counter rotating dual props. and no counter acting prop torque!!
