After scouring the web, we have made payment on a replacement Hawktique! 2001 SAN, yellow and black, of course.   Also included is a pick of the original Hawktique.

Had a good friend who I grew up with at the lake check it out. All is good. Minor gel repair needed (quarter sized chip on the Port bow topside, and one scratch on the starboard side).   But other than that, in great shape with 480 hrs.
Now we just have to ship it from Phoenix.

That's a lot of yellow. But, understanding your vibe, perfect. Hope it works out of you.

Not to be a naysayer, But are you sure about the hours? My boat says 275 hours. My boat actually has about 700 hours (Also a 2001 SAN). Those boats were notorious for failed gauges. Mine were changed 4 times. No way to check the actual hours on the Ford GT 40s.

Make no difference to me personally, but I've seen hundreds of these boats where the owner is lying, or just doesn't know.

Very true on the hours. No way to "actually" know. The gauges were replaced (with standard analog type) by the original owner, who claimed 100 hours on the boat at the time of replacement. Currently has 380 hours on the tach. I'm purchasing from the second owner. As with everything you buy from strangers, be prepaired. I'm itching to do a stroker engine, and re-flash the EFI, so who knows.

But sometimes it's just whiskey spilled in the snow. Never know till you try it.

Slick looking ride. I do love the black and yellow. That color scheme is great. As a bruins fan i would always have that boat stocked up with bruins swag so the whole sandbar would always know.. haha.

thanks all. I loved my previous ride. We had the picture of that boat from the 1990 brochure framed and on the wall at our cabin for 15 or so years (and still do) before I bought it and surprised my stepdad with the real thing. But soon found out that the layout wasn't the most conducive for a family day in the water. The new V-drive layout with the rear ski pylon will work much better for us. Guess the new pontoon will be sitting a bit more.

Nice way to return my friend. Will the glass be getting tinted?

Yes it will, but not limo black like the last one. Which the previous owner did.   I'm thinking like a factory rear tint in a car would be great.

Great find Josh!    That has to be a really rare color combo.

Reverse color hulls were available in '01. I believe this was special ordered to get the top deck colored. Very unique, and very deserving to be in the "Hawkeye" State.

It'll be on the lift in about a week Phil. I'm sure you won't be able to miss it.

Congrats on the new boat! Looks sharp. We also recently sold our direct drive for a v-drive and it's incredible what a difference it made. We had 9 adults and 3 small kids in my boat the other day for a short low-speed cruise and everyone was comfortable. That would have been impossible in the old boat.

I love the colored top decks, too - my '03 is blue on top but I think they stopped offering it in '04 and for a while thereafter.

Looks to be. I have a buddy who looked at it for me, and has the cashiers check for the owners. He's a few days late picking it up.   Got swamped at work. Said he'd get it today. Don't blame them for reposting until they actually receive the money.
