Correct, no spotter necessary with a wide angle mirror. Never seen a flag on GL, so you should be good there..

Got your ears on? I say we get us a convoy of classic Ford trucks pulling classic CC boats up Highway 41 comin' north out of MKE.. Come back. That's a big 10-4 good buddy. We got us a convoy. Mojo.....Do you ever take 41 up when you tow a boat up? I was thinking of taking 26 up. I looked at Google Maps coming up from Delavan. It takes about 2 hours coming up Hwy. 26, but, lots of zig zags, and starting and stopping. I learned the hard way when towing my boat back home from WI on Memorial Day my old Ford does NOT like the starting and stopping, and slow speeds when towing the MQ.

The engine overheated, trans overheated, brakes overheated, etc. If I take Int. 43 up from Delavan to Milw. and take Int. 41 north, it is 30 miles more on the trip, but the same travel time. So, to keep my airspeed up (as in air flowing through the radiator and trans cooler), it makes sense for me to take 41.

That looks as good as any. I was think of shooting up 47 and cutting over to 26 somewhere. Should be headed that way late Friday am

I just swapped out a rusty trailer bearing and nasty grease. Check those trailers before hitting the road.

It doesn't look good! Forecast:

"As the cold front moves through it is likely to slow down across central Wisconsin. This scenario will keep the threat for showers in the forecast through about noon tomorrow. Otherwise, partly cloudy with a light west breeze and high temperatures in the low to middle 80s.
Looking ahead, The threat for a thundershower never really leaves the forecast Saturday and Sunday".

Well, tonight God might try to insert some of the lake into the boat! :)

So Syd and I got up early and hit the road at 5AM. We had to drive north of Green Lake to Neshkoro to pick up a boat. Syd wanted to get some time on the slalom course so we chose the Sport.

Got on the lake at about 10AM and noticed some rather ominous clouds to the North, luckily they stayed North or at least skirted around us, Needless to say they were filled with lightening and rain. Here is a picture of the storm as it made its way east:


Syd skied two sets and then another thunderstorm appeared around 11:30AM, We were not so lucky with this one, so we sought out safe harbor at the Riley Pub pier - shameless plug, as the owner is my wife's cousin, but the food is great - you have to try the Irish Nachos... Anyway the rain passed, I made a few work calls and Frankenotter and Liz joined us. They all skied 2 or 3 more sets. While we were skiing Alan and Dana joined us, they tied up to the Sport, and well, everybody needs a picture of their boat with the Hurricane, so here is mine...


We talked Alan into a slalom run and here he is skiing behind the Hurricane!


About 3PM we decided to all mount up and head over to the bay, to see who else had arrived. Here is Frankenotters 176 on the prowl:

Well, my truck is down and I had a friend lined up to tow my boat over to GL and he just canceled. So here I am just on the east side of Ripon and there are those there with a truck and no boat and I'm here with a boat and no truck.... Bummer.

We forgot the good camera so just a couple snapped with the phone.
