I'm not sure how many of you have made your own skins while restoring the interior of your SNs but I came across this verify informative video on how to replace a seat cushion.

Seat Cushion Repair

The website sells materials and tools for repairs and restorations as well.

There are tons of other video series on there that might be useful as well.

A lot of SN's that I have been looking at buying don't have the stern seat so I have been researching on making one. Does not seem to hard if you have a template...

I took the old skin apart & used the separate panels to make new parts. You have to sew it inside out, with the inside corners being most difficult to maintain straight stitching.

I would give it a 8 in degree of difficulty.

Get a heavy duty upholstery machine if you go for it.

IMO, if you value your time, buying professionally made skins is worth it..

Yeah it seemed like keeping everything straight and making the corners look nice was the hardest part. I have the heavy duty sewing machine. I don't have the 'project' yet but I'm just trying to prep myself as best as I can before the right project comes along. I have seen some custom storage stern bench seats on here that I would like to mimick.
