I'm looking for bimini brand and mounting suggestions. Now that I've gotten the internal items on the list done, it's time to move to the outside - rub rail, cover and bimini. But the bimini will come first. Every boat I've owned came with a factory bimini so I've never had to buy an aftermarket brand. As such help along these lines would be greatly appreciated.
Not sure yet whether I'm going to use a stand alone or tower mounted and it will likely depend on quality and how well it covers but suggestions here would be welcome as well. While I'm not going to say money isn't an issue, I'm certainly not looking for a bargain ... I'd rather spend a few hundred extra and get a well built and strong bimini that will last.

Thanks!

I went with NorthStar products. They were a little more in cost, but their tubing and hardware is all stainless steel. I've seen too many cheap-o aluminum frames that don't hold up. Service was outstanding.

Thanks guys! Previous ones I owned had stainless bows and mounting points and never once had an issue. I've seen a few friends who had aluminum bows and plastic mounts and wasn't very impressed. One of the guys said he had an issue with strong winds that racked/ twisted the frame and it was never the same. Another said he had several of the plastic mounts break over time, a couple times while on the lake. Those types are cheaper, but I'm thinking spending a few more $$ on the HD stainless will be worth it in the long run and truthfully, I think they look better anyway.
Appreciate the links

I purchased mine from towerbimini.com too. It was not cheap, but it's really nice and fit perfectly as delivered.

+ 3 Tower Bimini Inc. in California. Danny is great to work with and they have a Stainless Steel option. I have the aluminum and it is holding up great.

This the one? towerbiminis.com
When I first googled it took me to a generic search page (towerbimini.com) -- guess you have to have the 's' on the end.
Anyway, thanks!   Don't have time right now to look them over so I'll do that tonight.

Yes, that' s the one. My mistake.

I too have aluminum, and it has held up well. But they have stainless. Also, no hole are drilled on the standard tower bims.

I've been to their shop, though its been years. Probably headed down there soon for a custom boat cover.

I bought my bimini from nautiqueparts.com. It is thick walled aluminum tube I opted for the stainless hardware and the fabric is thick and double stitched. It is a beautiful piece that will last a long time. The wife and I are thinking of getting another for the rear area of the boat.
I'm beyond happy with it

Spoke to Danny today and confirmed they could build a bimini to my specs and have it delivered in about 4 weeks. Price was higher than most, but I really wasn't surprised given the list of options & specs that I wanted him to include. Only down side is I'll get the rig about the time cooler weather is settling in around here Honestly though, Son and I are so busy right now I haven't hardly had a Sunday to mow the lawn let alone get to the lake
Still deciding on a color ... can't decide on black or red. Maybe I'll go with black and a red stripe!!   Regardless, I told him I'd take the long weekend and let him know on Tuesday

Joe,I have the same color boat. While my tops are different than what you are looking at I have both a red and a black one. I thought the black one looked good on it but everyone else likes the look of the red one. I do not have a tower though, don't know if or how that affects the color combo.

Thanks to all for the responses, I do appreciate it! After much consideration I decided to go with Danny @ Towerbiminis. I called him late in the week and discussed what I wanted and was assured that it was all possible so I set up the tower and took all the measurements today.
Gary, what about both ? He's got several "standard" patterns and one sort of spoke to me. It's a wide solid color through the middle with the edges - about 6-8" - a second color.   I'm thinking red for the main color and black on the edges.

I think you will be happy. They made one for my brother's third party tower, and it fits great. BKH

I'm the wrong guy for color coordination but red main and white edges might be fine too. I had this black and white one first and now have a red and white

Well, new question .... Does anyone happen to know if the red used on the 95' boats is more similar to the Sunbrella 'Logo Red' or the ' Jockey Red' ??   I'm thinking it's the Jockey, but as they say it really depends on your specific screen.   So real world experience would be preferred

I no longer have it, but I purchased a Sunbrella Folder that had small samples of all of the colors. I got it off e-bay for very little money. Jockey Red was the best match on my DARK RED 2002 Sport Nautique. The sample folder was helpful. It was something a Sunbrella Dealer would have on hand. Maybe you can find one too.
