It seems like it is being built to satisfy the needs of skiers who do not require all the fancy add ins that the recent generation desires and feels necessary. I sW the pictures on BOS before they were taken down and to me the boat looks awesome. Since I have a home on the lake and have no need to store a ton of equipment the boat would fulfill my needs nicely. The saddlebags on the previous 200 did restrict movement near the doghouse so that's a big plus. I can easily see Nautique selling a lot of these.b very clean lines and not ugly as the new Nautique with the bulging bow and bass boat sparkles.
It will allow Nautique to nice again command a fair share of the DD market. They can also produce ore $200k wake/surf boats that are all the rage now. Win/win for everyone. Get your rip/rap for your shoreline before it erodes dye to 5-6 foot rollers. |

I will take mine with a counter rotation engine and a carb :)
Bryant makes a damn fine boat if you are into stern drives. Should be a nice option. |

The big barges are keeping the manufacturers in high cotton! Rolling out of the dealers on a regular basis. I asked a lady at the gym if she had a boat, yes she said a new Nautique G23. "It's so easy to surf". To each his own but it looks pretty boring to me. Growing up in NC I used to go to the coast with my surfboard in the early 60's and surf the real waves. No more,

I have less than 0 interest in anything new that comes off any boat MFG currently,
Sanger DXII is the most interesting boat currently made but it still tips the scales about 4 times what I would ever spend on a boat. |

Then we'll all know something |

Rumor is that Correct Craft is going to produce a "stripped down" SN 200 which will be produced in the Bryant factory. Apparently removed the Saddle bags and some other features.
Personally, I don't think it will sell very well. There are not many DD boats sold to begin with. Then, everyone says they want a stripped down boat - but, no one actually wants a stripped down boat. For that same money, or less, they actually buy used boats with all the bells and whistles. My $.02 BKH |

Nobody wants a stripped down boat for $80,000. 200 performance with 5.7 open cooling for 45,000 would sell like hotcakes. That's few year old 200 used values.
Of course, pricing that cheap on a new boat would absolutely destroy used 200 and 196 market. Guaranteed the stripped down boat won't be any cheaper than the last new 200s to sell. Nautique can throw around the 105,000 starting MSRP on the new Ski Nautique and market the 200 as a bargain boat at 80,000. |

I don't believe a 45 K stripped down boat would sell particularly well. Hot cakes, or not.

You haven't worked much in a dealership where used boats sell very well because they have depreciated 15-20K after 1 year and 100 hours.
They hit the number the market really wants to buy at. 200s are produced in small numbers which means there is demand for them but not at the pricing levels. first time buyers take the depreciation hit and the guys who want but won't spend are ready and waiting cash in hand. Hence why the market for new 200s got so screwed up with the promo program and why it was changed over the last two years to keep boats from being sold at pricing that makes buying new look completely idiotic. Why buy a new 200 at 70-80K when you can buy a less than 1 year old promo rig with 100 loving hours for 20-30k under MSRP. Promo market basically made for 0 sales through dealers. The market likes the pricing of the Promo boats so much that's about all they buy. Also, owners who live on slalom lakes care very little about big old storage pockets out back. Their storage is their dock. |

I'd like to see what they look like and see the pricing. I love a stripped down boat. I'd say the most loved NWZ boat on the site is Brian from Massachusetts' white stripped down version. When he posted it everyone went nuts over it.. All white boat with no coaming pads or much else if I remember.

I dig those too especially with the factory rear seat.
Even a stripped down 200 won't be "stripped down". It's cheaper to make it with the gauge screen now (less wiring and interface issues). So, besides offering it with standard engine power and no storage pockets the only other things I could see that would be stripped down are limited color selection/graphics designs etc. It's not like they can put wood stringers in etc. Maybe Bryant MFG line is more efficient? Not many people make Gel Cote so I can't imagine there would be much savings in choosing a different vendor. Lower quality glass/resin? Just not sure what there is to strip for a significant savings. Lesser quality vinyl? The design of the seats is pretty simple so I doubt any noticeable savings of labor could be had there. |

It’s a novelty Bruce. They didn’t sell back then either. Nice clean looking boats but with no back seat or 1.23, I’d pass.
I am guessing cc will be marketing the 200 to the crowd who wants a OB (non private lake folks). Not necessarily a price point boat. Removing the saddle bags certainly would improve the design IMHO. |

The bags were weird and nonfunctional. How often do you put 4+ slalom skis in a boat unless you are doing a barefoot step line.
Tim is right, Nautique has gotten really good lately at selling not price point boats. My point is, even a stripper 200 currently wouldn't be considered a stripper boat like the 93 SN standard was. |

About all summer, we have 5 slalom skis in our Sportster. I wouldn't know what a bare floor is like. It may depend on the region that your from. The Malibu Sportster is a stripped boat and I was told they didn't build any in CA when they had a plant out there as no one out there wanted a boat like that. I was also told they were most popular in northern New England. Maybe due in combination due to the short season and the below average income we have up here. Or people like an old style classic boat? Tim, Brian's boat has a Velvet Drive? I would have thought that a plus? |

If the rumored boat came stripped down like the old Sporsters and came in at 50K with a trailer I'd be right at the dealer. All I'd want is around 350hp, analog gauges, simple stereo, an open bow with a filler cushion, and maybe a tower pending on the additional cost. The less things to break and/or fail the better. Oh and must have a key and toggle switches. The 2000 sport has taught me that valuable lesson.
I've been looking to up grade and if it looks like a prospect it is either too far away and/or sold. Not too many 200s or 200 sports sold in NE. Seems like everyone opted to buy a SAN210. |

Like this. Simple trailer, simple stripe. And not in Washington state with 366 hrs and a price of $59,999. Of course no docking lights. |

Dang, slalom skiing on our lake is mostly useless. It eats up BF time in the morning which is very limited. I use it more now to go distance and wear out my forearms. 200 slalom lake guys (which is where they are primary used) couldn't care less about the lockers I am sure. Every time we ski with the local guys skis are on the floor. I only know of 2 200s in Indianapolis that aren't used at private lakes. One is trashed and the other guy is a novice skier that started a few years ago. |
