Hello, I’m looking for a replacement rudder for my 94 ski nautique efi. I’m not sure what other year rudders will also work. If I’m getting a new rudder do I need a new rudder box? Mine appears ok. The bolts holding it in just weren’t safety wired and they vibrated loose. I know I’ll likely need new packing. Thanks and if anyone has one that will fit, I’m in the market.

I think that would be the 11A. If you do a search on here there are posts that list the years of that one. It was on quite a few years so should be somewhat easy to find.
Others will confirm or correct me |

Thanks, it looks like I need an 11a or a 2160. The only thing g I can find is the new 2160 from Nautique parts for $675.
Skidim sells a universal 4x4 bolt pattern rudder with box for a couple hundred less. I don’t mind enlarging the rudder hole. Anyone know if it works? I’m trying to spend less than $675 if anyone knows where I can get a rudder for less, I’d appreciate it. |

Look for used parts on this forum and check craigslist and local boat salvage yards.

Unfortunately I’m not having any luck on the classifieds here. I’ve got no replies to my want as and I’ve messaged everyone with a somewhat recent forsale post that might have one and no luck. Do you know of any ski boat salvage places? There definitely aren’t any near me that I’m aware of. I don’t mind getting it shipped if there’s a salvage place that has one.

Here's a link to Florida Inboards info including a phone number.
It might be easier and quicker to call than send a PM, since he has 3 user names on here and none have been logged in since July 28 of this year. ![]() You can find his Facebook page there too link |

Does anyone have experience using a non-Correct Craft rudder? I was looking at the Buck Algoquin Marine Hardware catalog which shows "high speed" rudders. The rudders look more like what I've seen on MC or Malibu boats, but I was wondering if they would work on a Ski Nautique.
I attempted to measure the shaft diameter on the rudder on my 1994 SNOB but I can quite get the caliper to fit properly. The shaft appears to have a diameter of 1 1/4". You experts can confirm and/or correct that measurement. Assuming that the 1 1/4" is correct, rudder number 10r4hsss1 looks reasonably close in dimensions: 10" blade width 13 1/2" blade length 14" shaft length I haven't measured the shaft length on the CC rudder as I would have to perform major surgery for that. I'm fairly certain that KENO will know the correct numbers. Enquiring minds.....are a dangerous thing. JQ |

Since my boat is out of the water and there is no rudder, I’ll walk over and measure the hole

1.25” diameter but the steering box is only about 5.75” tall. I doubt that one listed would work as it would probably hit the fuel tank.

JQ and Mike,
Besides the shape of the rudder, the key to selection is matching the rudder shaft dia. to the rudder port bore. The Buck Algonquin rudders come with plenty of shaft (length/height) so trimming to match the port length through the bore is needed. Then machining the square at the top to match the tiller arm is needed. |

Yeah, it looks like it could work. Nobody seems to list a price for that particular rudder, so who knows if it’s worth the hassle.
I sent a quote request off to deep blue yachts. Machining the square for the rudder arm is doable, and drilling and tapping the hole in the top is simple. |

If you do decide to go with the other rudder JQ mentioned or something like it, here are some pictures and measurements of the post and rudder. (11A)
Some of these you already know but here goes Shaft diameter 1 1/4 inches Total length of shaft 6 3/8 inches Length of the round part of the shaft 5 3/4 inches The square section that the steering arm clamps to is 3/4 inch per side Centerline of the shaft to the leading edge of the rudder is 2 inches The second picture shows that the corner of the square lines up with the front of the rudder ![]() ![]() As far as the rudder body itself, it's 12 1/2 inches deep and 9 1/2 inches front to back Overall length including the post is 18 7/8 inches (12 1/2 body length plus 6 3/8 shaft length) |

Mike
Maybe you've seen the link below, maybe not Maybe he sold it and didn't update the thread He was last logged on 2 weeks ago and shipping to Canada would raise the price some but it's worth a shot link |

kENO thanks for the measurements, those will be very helpful if I have to modify one. I messaged about that rudder you linked on Sunday offering to buy it but haven’t heard back. Hollywood messaged me yesterday saying he might have one, so hopefully I’m in luck and don’t have to modify one.
