Can someone give me an idea of how much fuel a 1969 Correct Craft Mustang can hold. I have searched around but can't seem to find it.

Thanks

Thanks. Boy I really like the Barracuda with the center console. That looks really cool.

They do take up valuable real estate in the boat but are certainly different. I happen to know someone with a Mustang here who has one

Without a door it looks like it might be hard to in and out. A tilt steering wheel would really help or a NASCAR removable one. . I'm an old guy so that seems like it would be tough.

Thanks Gary

On another note. I want to change the dist to electronic. I know there are kits out there but I thought I would ask you for your opinion. Have you ever done that?

The EI conversions have improved and are pretty reliable. Why are you converting?

Dan,
I thought you had the engine running?

Thanks again. I replaced the rotor, cap and capacitor and she started right up.

Again, why the thought of converting?

I did have it running great. Unfortunately 2 weekends ago I wen to run it in the driveway prior to a Sat morning outing and it started but ran really rough. Coughing and backfiring. So, I changed the wires, fuel filter, plugs and capacitor. Still runs rough and stalls in neutral. It also will not run over about 22 RPM's.

Next is to check the fuel, add some additive and fill the tank. It's really weird. The first time I took it out it ran really great. Then 2 weeks later all the problems started. I figured gas or points now.

Any advice. Firing order is correct I double checked. Dist never moved. I am out of more stuff to do than what I stated above.

Dan,
Before throwing more parts at it, check to see if the anti siphon valve at the tank pickup is clogged. The problem could be fuel and not ignition.

How do I get access to the siphon? I am sure it's obvious but I am new to owing a boat and not very mechanical, but I am quick to learn. I've done some light engine work mainly just part replacement and oil changes.

It's right where the fuel comes out of the tank, usually screwed into a 90 degree fitting with the fuel line clamped on the other end.

It's easy to mistake the anti siphon valve for a regular barbed hose fitting

Here's a typical anti siphon valve in the picture

so.........did you check/clean or maybe replace the points?

Thanks Keno I'll check that out this weekend and let you know how it works out. Did not clean the points as they look ok to me, but as I stated I am not a well versed mechanic. I get a picture and show it here when I get the time.

Just looking at them won't tell you much. A VOM to check resistance will but, just running a piece of fine abrasive paper through them is easier and faster.
