HI,
I am looking for a replacement part number for the resistor ( at least that's what I think it is) that mounts on the back of the tach on my dash , I can see a KS L and a 4 on it but cant match it to any replacement parts . Thanks for any advice!! |

Dan,
I have a feeling it's not a resistor but rather a voltage stabilizer. Does it look like any of these? Why do you feel it's bad? What it's wired to will help. All the gauges? |

thanks for reply!! you have bailed out more than once , no pun intended
I honestly don't know if its bad other than one side is rusted. I tried to pass voltage thru it but that didn't work. so my assumption is that it is bad. looks like this one . (although the mount on mine is a flat bar across the back ,... that's how it attaches to the tachometer) Instrument Cluster Voltage Regulator Fits 1960-66 Monterey Galaxie Fairlane Falcon Comet Mustang & More (B9MZ-10804EADJ There is a red wire from the ignition switch that attaches to the flat connector, on this part and the other side connects to temp and oil gauges. Dan,
It being connected to the hot on the ignition switch and then to the gauges tells me it is a voltage stabilizer. Any of the ones I linked to will work. If you do buy one, select one that's in the same year range but I believe most do. "pass power thru"? If it's good, you should get a nominal 12 volts (key turned on) on the wire from the ignition switch and then a nominal 12 volts on the other side that goes to all the gauges. |

I will retest it as have you suggested and if it fails I will order the recommended part.
Thanks again, much appreciated. Dan |
