Thanks JQ and Wetskier.  I too really love this boat.  hard to believe it was a pile of junk when we bought it.  I've officially invested more than it's worth, but the enjoyment factor is where I measure my ROI  Big smile

Just a follow up on this post and a shout out for Wayne at New Dimension.    I ordered a tower  in Feb of 2021, and received it all banged up in shipping.    Wayne has walked with me through every step of getting this thing straightened out, both on the phone and through email communication.  While the shipping experience has been a bummer, and the shipper has taken every possible "out"  to make sure they don't have to pay for the damage,  I am happy with the customer service and the product's original quality from NDT.   Seems rare these days to have a company stand behind their product like Wayne has done.     The tower was a MAJOR upgrade in interior space management, and really has made the boat functional for us.    We went with the NDT over the tower Bimini for factory continuity.   my only bimini complaint is probably going to be remedied by time and experience; it's a bit hard to lock in to the extended position due to the material tension of the cloth, and that visibility/location of the skier down flag is limited when the Bimini is extended, especially with the board racks full.    under the tower would likely have made these both more difficult, so I am glad for the Over the tower style.

Go to Tower Bimini Inc. in California. They have a web site and make a great product. They also offer the over the tower type.  Google it. They are the way to go. They offer aluminum and stainless steel frames. My Aluminum has held up great and I picked it up used.

Only picture I had handy... 1997 with just a generic bimini from Overtons... I matched the gunwhale width then selected how much coverage I wanted front to back and the height... I held out for a long time with the argument that it would make the boat look like crap, but the wife eventually wore me down... Embarrassed

What’s the most popular bimini for this boat, that doesn’t throw off the lines too much, but if staying away from a tower, would be recommended?

Same boat. Looking for suggestions - from those who have same 1994-1996 (ish) SN’s.

Thanks!

We've been looking for a 02-05 SAN 210 for a year or so now, but I haven't seen much under 30K,  and several boats on the West Coast were advertised in the 35-40K range.  I was hoping that the prices would drop over winter, but we haven't seen much change if any, and with us anticipating another COVID style summer here in WA, I expect that boats will again be on the super premium pricing path. We'll keep looking, but I am wanting to capitalize on the few summers I have left with my kids at home, so making what we have work is pretty important to me.   Working around gear on the floor and having rope challenges for the back seat passengers makes this boat less than ideal for trailer boating, so hopefully the tower will help us to better navigate logistics of spending days on the water.    @75,   I love the 176,  they sound like fantastic boats.

Such a great looking boat just as it is.  I wouldnt touch it.  But then, its not my boat.

But then, maybe I'm just a little bit biased.

I’d get a stainless steel/alum framed bimini like the one on my 08 MC. It is possible to install it by yourself if you’re careful and it has no straps and is good in the wind with no flapping. For high toe point get a fly-hi.

Towers are troublesome for covers and after you hit your head for the umpteenth time you will be thankful. Not a problem for some. Maybe just us Amazon height challenges types.

Wayne is great to work with, but just know that his biminis require snaps to be drilled in to the back of the tower.

You can put a bimini on without a tower. I am not a purist but I don't like towers on ski boats . They throw off the lines.

Wayne from NDT sent me a couple of photos of a sport from the same era with the tower and bimini.   I am thinking worst case, shade will help us to stay out longer, even if I don't end up liking the look as much as I hope to.

Hi All,    We're looking to add a tower to our 94 Ski.   I know towers can a negative for the purists, but we're looking for function so that we can get more use out of this boat.  New Dimension has tower Bimini's as an option, I also like the top from from TowerBimini's.  Anyone have pictures of an over the tower Bimini from New Dimension?   There aren't any pics on the website.   Factory install by NDT would be fantastic, but I am happy to do the work if the TB top is better.
