Mine was bent like that when I got the boat - a good prop shop can usually straighten them. If you go that route have them put in a new cutlass bearing. Your rudder might be beyond saving though.

Thanks. Hoping just to find a good used one I can put my brand new cutlass bearing in (replaced before the incident).

My 1978 Skier prop shaft strut has a 10 degree to port side bend after running aground. N3 boat mechanic told me it takes a 6WB strut but from this thread, I don’t think that is correct.
Can someone tell me the correct part number? Also, where would I go to get it straightened/repaired? N3 won’t try for liability reasons. Is it likely I have a bent prop shaft too? |
