1996 GT 40 new to me. replaced 2 injectors. Sarted boat and it would only idle down to 950 RPM. went back out the next week with the intention of checking timing advance. When I started it it would only idle down to about 2,000. But it really does not sound that high to me. I think the tack is reading double. How can I check this

Buy yourself a present and get yourself a high tech digital advance timing light with a built in tach feature.
An Innova 3568 comes to mind or an Innova 5568 if you want to spend more and get another feature or 2 it's fun to play with all the buttons too ![]() Or use a multimeter with a built in tach feature |

I’m with Keno on getting a digital advance timing light with
the built-in tach. Retired my on old Sun timing light a few years ago for one on
these. |
