I am putting new shoes on my trailer (2000 Metal Craft) I put the new shoes on… drum will not go back on… the adjustment is all the way closed I had the drum turned today it helped but will still only go ¾ of the way on. I picked up the shoes at the local auto parts store they are identical looking to the ones I pulled… is there a trailer specific shoe with a thinner surface? I can turn the drum some more but it is still going to rub I would think… what do you think guys?
Thanks Steve |

Replace the entire brake assembly. You can pick one up at a trailer shop for about $60. a lot less headache in the long run...
Or you could replace the drums with a disk system for a little more $$ This is what I wish I had done to start with. |

Thanks for the help guys! I pulled the other shoes out of the box and realized one of the one’s I put on was way to thick they must have screwed up when they manufactured it… good ol Mexico!
