I have an extra trailer for a '66 Mustang. It's pretty rough but I would like to get something for it. A pic is in the diaries section. The trailer is ready to tow home. I just put new wheels on it. New bearing buddies were installed last year by the previous owner. I have not registered the trailer therefore you wil need to bring tags with you to "legally" tow it home. Texas does not require inspections on these trailers so it has no inspection sticker. The trailer sits at TechSun trailers on I-45 20 minutes south of Houston. Bring a small amount of money and tow this baby home. The brake lights worked but the blinkers did not - it could have been a connction problem - I do not know. Sold As Is.

I can, but mine does not have "factory interior" I had to build a rear bench seat. I'll take some over the weekend and shoot it to you.

That is exactly right. The cross memebers also serve as the fender mounting points as well as the spring mounts. The springs are double eye springs of, I think 30" and 5 leafs (very hard to find). Each spring shackle is mounted in a tube welded to the underside of the "C" cross members. The cross member extensions are stiffened against bending with rods from the ends back/forward to the main rails/bunks. The boat and trailer is in storage at the moment (45 minutes away), so I cannot get pictures easily.
Will a pipe bender bend/curve channel? |

Luckly I have acess to pipe bender and stuff like that. I really would like some pics of the frame/crossmembers/spring mounts. It appears the crossmembers extended outside the frame and the spring mounts were welded to them. So that would help.

Mackwrench:
Good luck. I built my own trailer for my PWC, and it was time consuming. I was able to design the trailer with all straight components. The main rails came together at the tongue via mitered angles. Now, CC trailers of the past used rolled channels as the main rails/bunks. Are you going to try to duplicate this technique? If so, how will you determine the curvature? I have an original CC trailer for my '77 Martinique if you need any measurements from it. Again good luck, and if you are sucessful, I know you will be proud in showing off your trailer as much as your boat. I know I am with my PWC trailer as the PWC is a bland '94 Polaris SLT 750 that does not look like much compared to the new fancy PWC's. |

Since I have not had any luck in finding a CC trailer within a 500 mile drive... I am going to build one. I am looking for a few pics and hopefully someone who would take some measurements of theirs.... Boat is a '65 mustang. Anybody? Thanks!
