New die-cut early 260-289 Ford/Interceptor exhaust manifold end-cap gaskets. 1/32" KLINGERsil C-4401 gasket material. I had extras made. Email for price. As far as I can tell these gaskets are not available on SKIDIM. I ordered a gasket from SKIDIM that looks like these but it was much larger in dimensions. jim@drivesys.com

Hey Jbear!
It's been a weird summer. Not much happening in the CC world for J_I_H. My '68 is setting in my front yard next to my '66 and the new old boat (year not known). The rain in Texas has kept me doing other things than working on the boat. The seats in the new old boat look great in the '68. I will snap a few photos. The seats in the new old boat are in great shape with all original wood frames in tack and clean. Evidently the boat has been stored under roof for years. the dash is coming out of the '68 - I am going to have an new aluminum dash machined out and powder coated glossy black. The carpet is all coming out as well as the side boards. Looks like no boating this year. :( |

Jim,
A little of topic ?? Any idea where I can get a set of exhaust manifolds for a 1965 Ford Interceptor 260 ci ? Just finished a re build for my son and when I was changing out the drain cocks and cleaning some crud from around the threads I went right thru the water jacket into the exhaust chamber ??? then I realized that someone had already epoxied the elbow up, Sooo... I'm thinking new set. Problem with new ones is the $$$ for a set is > 1000.00 !! & that's no good! |

Its been a long time since we have seen signs of Jim in Houston around these parts...
For your information you can use any exhaust manifolds that fit a 260, 289, 302, or 351w on your boat. There are some interceptor pieces around here and there but they did burn out and corrode so you will need to look and wait. If you only need an elbow or an end cap your search might be a bit easier. If not- there are cast iron replacements around for under 1k a set.. not a lot under 1k but enough for a couple tanks of gas anyway. |

John, Have you considered a repair. Not the epoxy but opening the outer wall up and welding/patching the inner wall? If you can't do it yourself, get in touch with Crow. |

Admittedly hard to swallow but I just paid $900 and change to get rebuilt unobtainable manifolds and after about two years of deciding what to do I was just happy to have a good clean cure for my problem and even better yet maybe get the boat back on the water where it belongs.
If you send clear pictures of the damaged area to Buck Crow he will pretty much be able to tell if a repair is possible or cost effective. If not he will steer you in the right direction. |

Thanks for the help. I decided to gamble & bought a set on EBay. Described as "pristine" . Only OEM set anywhere ! I'll keep these now that you mention it. I have a local welder/ fabricator who can do most anything !

That set you bought does look nice. Hopefully, they'll pressure test just fine. They do come up periodically on ebay.
