I never knew slalom behind a jet boat was so awesome. Due to the 17' beam, you can run the whole course inside the wake! Speaking of Beam, time for another drink. The tracking is kind of sloppy, jbear ran over a boat guide and the impeller chopped it up good and I got blasted with rubber bits. Still made the pass though.

I'm sure I won't have a problem at skicat's lake. Another blessing of the jet drive is you only need 12" of water depth to run it. Reid is going to be jealous, this CC is flirting with 60 mph right now.

Going to have to leave it at the lake Hollywood. It would be a pain getting permits everytime you needed to trailer it.
How many axels has the trailer got?

I give, I give. And I'm searching right now for an IB to jet conversion kit for myself right now. And I'm getting the jetovator(sp) option so I can raise the stream and try to annihilate my skier. That'll be more fun that tubing even.

HW, please post whatever it was that you said to the seller if you can.

HW, What's the latest on your purchase? The seller contacted my "wife" telling her it was going to be listed for sale again because you backed out. The seller even provided a phone number to be contacted. This is the response I sent back:

Dear adinarhire,

"I had asked you several times about the jet drive and if it would make a good first wakeboard boat for my son. Your responses were less than encouraging so I had to do my own research. I found out that the jet drive would not be good for that purpose. I am no longer interested, Diane"

Ok so here's what really happened.

adinhare:
[Hello, congradulations on highest bid, you will love this boat; please contact me to make arrangements as to pick up the boat thanks! My name is Xavier (954)655-0553

Hollywood:
Actually I'm not sure I will be picking up the boat. I did send you a few emails with questions regarding the boat that didn't get returned. I've also been recently informed by some close friends of mine that the boat is severely falsely advertised. Is it a MasterCraft of a Correct Craft? I have always been a MasterCraft fan and will certainly not buy any Correct Craft. Is the boat really 17' wide?

Perhaps you should contact the second highest bidder and offer one of those "second chance offers". I was bidding to buy a MasterCraft jet boat, which this item is apparently not.

adinhare:
I just hate to deal with ebay bidders who make bids and dont follow through that is why I specifically said if you don't want to buy it then don't bid !I never mentioned Master Craft anywhere. I DID NOT falsely advertise the boat,I tried answering all the questions, you have no excuse for being a deadbeat bidder and I will report you to ebay! quit wasting my time and stop bidding on ebay Its Idiots like you that we dont need on ebay. I will be sure to report you READ BEFORE YOU BID! You prevented someone who wanted this boat from buying it.

Hollywood:
I hate sellers who don't know what they are selling. Get it straight next time and you might actually make the sale. Please see my other email. I am confident eBay will stand behind me and my 100% rating. Your listing was incorrect.

I've attached a picture of a screen shot of the listing. You are very mixed up on what you are trying to sell. Once you figure it out I'm sure somebody will want it.

Make: Mastercraft
Engine Type: Jet drive

adinhare:
Don't be so sure of anything, sir
And next time, wear your glasses or learn how to read, everywhere it says Correct Craft, I have no idea where you read Master whatever.

...And that is where it stands. If he is smart he won't push it any further. It would be fun if he did however, I will win and send him a link to this thread.

Hey Guys - I realize I am a newbie to this club but feel compelled to give you some feedback.

This seller was obviously not on top of his game, but to bait him with false bids borders on malicious behaviour, at least in my book.

I would not think this club would want it public that we got our yucks from this game.

I really enjoy following your discussions so I hope you take my feedback as constuctive.

I found our boat on this website & have gotten invaluable insight into maintaining it, so I would hate to see any site tarnish get started.

Ok, let me have it!

Chris

Chris, I am not "going to let you nor anyone else have it".This was clearly a seller not knowing nor caring about the product he was selling. Several members tried to set him straight or to add some insight into his situation,he wanted no part of that...
Put the shoe on your foot and you bid on what he described in his ad, would you have been a happy camper???Was that a "jet boat", Was the beam 17'? Was the boat a Mastercraft,I have to answer NO to all the above, and it was only right that the offer was withdrawn. The reason being product not as portrayed.
Now how do you feel that would tarnish our reputation, the same will go for you if you try to sell something on this site. Know what you have, ask a decent price be prpared to answer all questions honestly, if you fail on any of these points you too will be in the same boat as "JET BOAT DUDE"

Billy - Points well taken, I just wanted to point out there is a line there somewhere that is better not crossed.

BTW, I got your wrenches, can't wait to tear into the prop shaft after the spring robins arrive.

Chris, I have to go with Doc on this one. Quite a few emails were sent to the seller including a couple by me asking for more information on the jet drive. Due to the sellers response (or lack of) at that time some were thinking it was still a scam listing. It wasn't until roughly day 3 or 4 that the bidding started.

HW, What happened with ebay?

Chris , glad you were satisfied with the tools, and sure Keith is happy for the donation.
Pete was in on the "SCAM" as well as some others on this site, we just wanted info and not trying to do anything that "crossed the line"

I feel the "ebayhole of the week" thread was actually started to defend and maintain the "correctness" of Correct Crafts. It has certainly brought several boats to everyones attention where the seller seems to be very misinformed. Picture someone new to boating and getting trapped by one of these CC boat sales. We have actually informed a couple sellers of mistakes and they in turn corrected their listings. Mr. ebayhole jet drive certainly was not one of those!

Chris,

Point taken, I do think the particular seller in question, as a result of all that occurred, will re-list, and I would imagine this time with all accurate information. In some ways the entire masquerade could be considered a good deed on behalf of the uninformed consumer, Hollywood - The Ralph Nader of EBay!

Some of you guys seem very savy to ebay and I would like your advise. My history with the site is I bought new manifolds and risers through it last summer for my 88 2001. Outside of that the only time I look at it is when one of you link a boat to it through this thread. I decided to jump on the bus last Sunday and listed my David Clark Aviation headset (don't fly anymore). Posted a picture with a very honest description of their shape. For whatever reason I have not gotten a bid while like products are getting bids all around mine. Is this because I don't have a history as selling on ebay so I am an at risk seller or am I missing something else.

Thanks,
T

Having no feedback probably has something to do with it. Do you accept paypal? If not, thats another strike. Any chance you have the item mis-categorized? Any key words misspelled or missing? How good are your pics? Is your shipping price clearly mentioned, and fair?

I would take a look at the ones that are getting bids & compare the listing to yours. What is the difference other than the rating? It might be the ending date. A lot of the bids come in at the last minute. If there are mulitple items that are the same, they are probably getting the bids first if they end first. As well as what Tim said!

TR and Ski, Yes I set up paypal as an option. Don't think I have the item in wrong category. Consumer electronics. Picture is ok but not like the professional ebayers photo's look.I think I should have put more in my title like pilot/aviation instead of just the model number. I made my shipping price the same as the others that were listed last Sunday of course now the new ones are lower. Closes this evening so lets see what happens. It's not the money really, more the learning experience for me selling something on ebay, and I would like to see them go to an aspiring pilot as opposed to just sitting in my closet getting outdated. The listing is under "David Clark H10-20" and my ebay name is 113847.

If its priced right, someone will find it, the important thing would be to put it under the right category such as aviation, airplanes and so on, it is not necessarily electronics but it is, people are more likely to punch in aviation then this will lead them to your headset, i run an ad constantly and it took a while to fine tune it once i understood what was going on, If you were looking for the headset how would you go about it?

Well, it sold and I got a reasonable price also. Didn't get any inquiries or bids until the last 4 hours. Then it ramped up. I can see how there would be a real science to listing and buying things on ebay.

I know it's late in the week, last minute submission.

"may not be worth a dime?", but let's start the bidding at $49.99 anyways!

So here' a Craigslist Ad for a Snowmobile:

new york craigslist > staten island > recreational vehicles

Snowmobile 2003 Polaris 800 Edge X Take a look!!! - $2715
Reply to: see below
Date: 2007-11-18, 4:37PM EST

This machine is the 800 xc sp built on an Edge frame because it is lighter making the sled fasted and easier to turn, known as the 800 Edge "X".

The sled is rated as the fastest sled in its class. The machine is in excellent condition with a small tear in the pastic tunnel. When unloading the sled the tunnell caught on the cable of the ramp an tore a 6" long cut in the plastic.

The Machine was never run hard and has been stored inside since purchased. The sled has only been hauled in an enclosed trailer.

Sled upgrades include: Automatic Start, Reverse, Studded Track, Saddle Bag and extra belt. ONLY 853 MILES!! Runs great

The pictures:

http://community.webshots.com/album/561478806vSWRhJ

Contact me : MCLEODSCO@MSN.COM

Thank You

so I contacted him:

Is it still available?

Is it on S.I. or elsewhere?

Are you available to show it tomorrow (Friday)?

Thanks,

Pelican

...and he replied:

Hello,
I am glad you are interested in my 2003 Polaris 800 Edge Snowmobile. It has a 800cc engine with only 853 original miles. The VIN# is: SN1NA8cs53c324043. The snowmobile is in perfect condition, clear title.

I want to let you know all the details of the transaction from the beginning to make everything clear.

Since I'm very busy, traveling a lot with business, I have chosen the eBay Shipping Center program to take care of all the proceedings, so the snowmobile is right now in their possession in a warehouse in San Jose, CA from where it will be shipped by eBay as I had to go abroad for a business seminar and I deposited it there to do this deal in the meantime. Beside shipping the snowmobile eBay will act as the middle man - holding the payment until you receive and inspect the snowmobile. You will have a 3 days inspection period. I did not paid the shipping fees, the price for this snowmobile is $2715 with an extra cost of $100 for delivery.

The transaction will be backed by their program. Please note that the snowmobile was listed on Craigslist and not eBay! I am just using the eBay protection program offered by eBay.
If are really serious and want to close this deal email me back with your name and shipping address and I will provide them to eBay, in order to the secure transaction over eBay.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Scott McLeod

My friend was selling a bike and a woman sent him a fake check over the amount he wanted and she wanted him to send her a check for the amount she was over and ship the bike,
In your case for any future reference without pissing anybody off, never ever do any business over the phone with anybody in the New York city area or anywhere within 200 miles of New York City. Besides who the hell has a snowmobile on Statten island and anyone that puts studs on a track is going to run the piss out of it, he is going out of his way in the description because he has been at it for a while, it is very deceptive on why he is using e-bay shipping, close this deal is another keyword of a scammer, shipping for 100 bucks from California???? see if you can get his bank account number so you can make a deposit or make him go to a western union, make him run around a little bit.....be a dumbed consumer and get one on him

I sold some parts to a guy on Statten Island this summer, It was the biggest f-in pita of my life, it is in thier blood to try to fk you. I was trying to be the nice guy and sold him a used Paragon input shaft, he ended up getting his cleaned up at the machine shop, he wanted to return the shaft to me and asked for my fed-ex account number so i could pay the shipping back. I normally dont charge a re-stocking fee but in this case, I had too,
If i answer the phone anymore and hear that Soprano accent I know im in for a f-in
sorry for the rant and hopefully im not offending anyone and i am only stating facts
