Well maybe they could hlep the corvette boat some more, besides restyling it. They could shove that 620+ HP ZR-1 motor in it.

He sold it a few years later and bought a 56,he didn't like how small it was inside and no roll up windows.Out of those two I can remember the 56,so that is the one I wish he kept.

My Dad had a 50's T-Bird back when it was not so apparent that they would become the collectible that they now are.
He jokes about thinking that when he got the same amount (selling it) that he bought it for years after he bought it, he was really making out great. Now, of course it's not funny! I think the amount was something in the $2,000 to $2,500 range! |

I can kind of remember how much he sold the 54 for,it was like 1500 or 1800,but your right they were a used car and the new and improved next year model was out.Who wants an old one! These guys grew up in the depression and then went thru the war and were now making some money. It's the same with my generation, a buddy of mine bought a 4 year old lime green AAR Cuda for around 2 grand, we thought he was crazy who knew?

Gary,
I kid my boss regularly (he's a good sport) because he (probably back in his 20's), in about 1973 sold his aging '66 Mustang to buy this hot new 302 equipped Mercury Comet. Woo Woo! I've kidded him so much over the years. He finally bought a '65 Stang here now in his mid 50's from a friend. Unrelated to the topic, a pretty cool thing about this Mustang is that it belonged to the brother of the artist (some may recognize) "Lee Teter" who did the "Reflections" painting of the Vietnam vet leaning on the Vietnam memorial wall. Lee had sand blasted a nice picture of two horses (Mustangs) up on their hind legs sort of sparring or whatever in the rear window (takes up the whole window pretty much). It was when Lee was much younger. We've wondered if that glass might not be worth as much or more than the collectible car some day! |

What a waste of a LS7, come on why put a 13K motor in something slow? I will take that for the RX7 haha.
