Nate, Very nice! I'm sure that the many hours you spent were worth it and you should be very proud of the outcome. I always like seeing the cedar strip rather than just the stick and glues.

no, that's no kit. The only thing that was "kit-like" in it was the Blue prints for the molds that i bought from, I believe "Greenval.com"... the kayak is the "Tasman Sea". Had to trace the prints onto 3/4 plywood. Then from there went & picked out some nice long lengths of 2x4 cedar, ran em through the table saw, then through the bandsaw to get em down to 3/8" thick x 3/4" wide planks, run through the planer a few times to smooth em out. Then finally run through the router table to get the cove/bead.
Pete, Thanks, yeah i was tempted to go with the stitch & glue @ first, but theni decided this looked nicer....plus i thought it was be a "nice, quick little project to do"...haha...not quite, though alot of it had to do with not getting the idea to do it/start it until march sometime, then summer came & slowed progress even more. Man Nate, I looked at that again and I commend you for sticking to it, those are the kind of projects that usually get half finished. Says a lot of your character to see that to the end.
