    Posted: May-14-2010 at 11:55am
Bought was was described as a 1967 Mustang in Michigan last weekend. Have been in contact w/Art Cozier at CC. He advises that the HIN# on the Michigan title is a Michigan State applied # for a homemade boat ?? Art advised that the CTC HIN should have been on a tag near the throttle lever on starboard, (not there) I have learned thru reading posts that there may another # on port stringer under Engine ?? Seller advised that power plant is an Interceptor 289 CI. ??? on I.D. Boat appears to be CC "Tangerine" . When we stripped and catalogged the hardware we found the "Mustang" emblem's shadow on the port side of the dash. Sure would like to have the emblem ?? Any help w/this. Has the split windshield w/the vent wing bases, original on 67' Mustang's ?? I see em on 65's and 6's But I don't seem to be able to locate any literature from 67'. Any help appreciated   ???????   tks   jjo

The 1967's were the same as the '66's for the most part. There is no 1967 brochure. I've only found one ID tag on the boats I've worked on and it's been an aluminum plate nailed to the top of the stringer on the port side.

tks Riley,

Maybe you can help me w/something else I'm not understanding. I'm seeing a lot of "Mustangs" w/the "hood scoop typre of front ventilator in which the fore deck is actually molded for the vent, and several with the flat fore deck w/the cast ventilator. I'm pretty certain that we have a "Mustang" from the shadow of the dash emblem. what's the deal w.that ?? Any idea's where I can get the dasjh emblem ?? w/o buying another boat lol

They changed from the flat deck to the molded in scoop type deck sometime in 1966. You may see the flat styles reported newer because boats back then they were often registered in the year they sold rather than the year they were built. We bought our 66 as a 67.

Those Mustangs come up for sale occationally, but sometimes you do have to buy another boat.
