Yucatan Yellow Correct Craft??

Does anyone know of a 60's CC with Yucatan Yellow hull color? Ive been thinking about that for the 'cuda I just bought. (you can see the color in the 66 and 68 literature)

I see a Mustang in the diaries in Mi , but dont know the guy and his email didnt go thru.... Id really like to look at a boat in person sometime, but good pic would even help...

Steve, I know of one up north but will not get up there untill Christmas to get in the storage shed at Watercraft to take some pictures. The Yucatan yellow is a brighter yellow (not as brown) as in the ref section.

The lighter yellow is closer to the true color.

I would go with the white deck too. As original!!!

66 & 67 boats were solid color. They started the solid hull and white decks in 1968.

IMHO, Yucatan yellow is not a hot color for a hot boat like a Barracuda.   

Pete, The white hull with colored decks are seen pretty often on the pre 66 fiberglass boats.

We should start a new thread on this subject.........
My vote is to leave as is, the spots are unique and tacky,and will make it easy to spot on the lake.
The mustard yellow is my pick,the deck can go either way.......
Don't know why the hype or rush on colors,it will be several years before that part of the puzzle comes together.........LOL

I don't think the Tangerine is too 70's. I'll never forget the day I was at Watercaft when I believe it was Ralph Meloon showed up with a all Tangerine Mustang. It was the late 60's and he was on tour visiting all his dealers. This Mustang did NOT have a stock engine in it (I wish I remembered what was in it!) and he took me for a ride that scared the hell out of me!! As a kid in my early teens, it was very impressive to say the least. No wonder I didn't remember what engine it had. That all Tangerine Mustang stuck in my mine for years. Probably until the Seperator came out.

I bet they do beacause they have painted it twice during the past 16 years and both times they did a great job matching the color. I'll see if I can get it.

Actually I say that VERY affectionately... (thought Id get a response from the Doc) I figure the only way I can ever compete at GL is not use the same color as Billy or Paul used!!

Turquoise would probably be my 3rd choice..theres a 66 Wildcat in the diaries....maybe I just dont have enough boats...can you help me with that?

62, looking at your boats in the above photo, I see you have vent windows. Are they something you made up of lexon, or are they original?

I think it would look good. In case it wasnt obvious, the color wheel I posted is right out of the '66 brochure.
