Steve: nice work on the LLBD. Yes it counts! I think where you will improve is getting more "bent" in the middle. The first 1/3 of you get up you seemed to leverage off the water. All told it looked really good and patient. Tough learning new stuff in icy water. I would recommend bleeding a more air out of the suit. I might be wrong, but if you were to slam hard with all that air it might blow through the suit, likley where the seals are glued to the suit. Those connections are notorious weak spots.

Too much air can pop the seals...the seals pop like balloons in an impact. Burp the air out at the neck.

Yuk, that right there is why I headed south. Pretty wild considering you were just out on the lake a day or two ago.

Hope he won't mind having this reposted for the CCF family but Roy had this up on FaceBook at the end of last week.....

"Thanks to all my friends and family for the support and prayers. Back from hospital at home now. Surgery went very well. Doc was pleased with the outcome. Now for the long road back. Feels like a horse kicked my hip. No pain from the joint. Smooth as silk."

The man can turn! Ok so i was out saturday...with the idea to work on the turns.
Water was high and glassy but lots of debris. So i did shoes. After a couple of falls i nailed a ftb then a btf...the key to both is keep ankles toghether and bend the knees. Every one i kept low i turned it. The ones i forgot i ended in the water.
Dryland will follow till next time i go out.

What a great accomplishment and you do not have to wait through this entire season to move to the next level. Will we see it in March at SJRR?

As you can see I changed the boom from port to starboard...while the SS look in my case slicker as Im now facing the boat..I found spray to be more annoying there, might be the weight of the driver. Also manouvering is more difficult probably due to the prop rotation...
so I think I going back to the port side...

i went ahead and also tried some llbd...im close, but i still need to fine tune the speed.
I can plane and plant, but im spreading my legs to wide, and cant get leverage to stand up...also I think I need to put full line as i feel im riding in the middle of the second rooster...my chin feels like is riding in concrete...

anyone knows how to embeb a google+ video here?
I have some videos i can share...

Seb - so you are definitely VERY wide. The wide start definitely helps in getting your foot on the water sideways, but I think it is very hard to bring those legs in. If you decide to continue with the wide plant, as soon as you get your feet on the water, you have to start moving your heels together while your waiting for the speed. The wide approach is how I learned on the short line, but on long line, your fighting a LOT of water being that wide.

Alternatively try legs off the line (keeping your feet just a little wider then shoulder width), turn your feet sideways (toes out) and touch the water, then wait (for an eternity) and finally start turning your toes down while bending at the waist.

I know you said you thought the rope was too short, but I thought you looked to be in a good spot, definitely out past the rooster also in the prop wash, but these boats don't have a nice flat table like the BFN, so it kind of is what it is.

Can't offer you much more then that, as heck, I am just a little bit ahead of you... Keep trying, keep posting. Hey, how come that chick wasn't in the back seat on the videos???
