Just saw your post, yes that is correct '84 would have had 3 strips on the side, '86 would have fat stripe with small strips on the sides on the seats.

Larry, I had no I had no idea Reid sold the orange crush to Tim's dad ! That is cool it is in good hands, Reid lives about 35 miles from me I am on Lake Wylie near Charlotte and he is on Lake Norman. We don't get to hang out too much the past few years. I have two small girls 5 and 1 and a son that is due on or around June 6th. I have been slowly working on some of my boats but spending most of my time at work in the composites industry working with boat builders and my family.

That 1995 Ski looks a pretty good deal at $5900
http://orlando.craigslist.org/bod/3037099328.html Looks like it would need a new interior and a really good wet sand but its a great starting price. A bit of TLC and it could be a really nice looking boat and there would be no wood rot issues. You guys are being really spoilt for choice at the moment Love the pair of orange's, if the Calender is still going that Pic should make it there next year |

Apart from the steering wheel I'm digging this '85. Is it me or doesn't it say the price? |

I am guessing Dave Hendrick has or will see that picture, but I would think that would be something the factory might get a kick out of seeing or have hanging on the wall some place. |

Anyone want to know about this boat, let me or Kytom know. I owned the boat for about 13 years and sold it to Tom back around 1997 for $4,000. Sorry, only original gel is top deck. Rest of the boat was painted with imron around 1978 or so. Still looks like it did when I sold it!

So both boats are at the dock and someone says "take a spin in whichever one you want to". Which do you choose? I take the fast boat on the left!
I agree the factory should have that picture displayed somewhere, talk about a style of boat standing the test of time! |

Ha, both boats are awesome, but the "fast one" is most definitely on the right! The Skier runs very strong though- clocked over 47mph on the GPS, so about 2mph faster than my Inca Gold '71. I think it'll be getting even faster over the winter, too.
Turningpoint, as the boat isnt mine, its not really my place to discuss purchase details... but Im sure many here would be happy to give you advice on what your boat would be worth. I can tell you with no uncertainty that doing any kind of major restoration work on one of these boats is a labor of love... if you are VERY good, you can break even on the expenses when it comes time to sell (donating all of your labor, obviously). More often than not though, you come out behind by a good margin. Adam, wish I had thought to get some pictures of both boats at speed! I only snapped a few of the Skier: The cool factor of the boats surely outweighs my (very) marginal photography skills, but I like that picture of the 2 boats together a lot! Im pretty lucky to have access to both boats. |
