Noted. Thanks for the tip. Hoping to get my wife more confident to drive so I'll be able to practice more. This was a rare occasion the lake was calm and my old man was there to steer. I think that's the 3rd tumble I've ever done, I made the first one I tried in college, then missed one last year because I didn't even have a barefoot suit and my life jacket proved to be a bit catchy.[/QUOTE]

Nice I think I have tried like 30 ok maybe like 15 longline and still cant figure it out. Im making it my goal this year tho in the fall when we start footing again some.

Old video

Found this old video. This was about a month into learning how to foot. I think I was fearless back then. Now I try not to fall more. I had barely fallen back then. I wish I could do one foots this good now.

Did you notice on that video your form? You could actually see you activating your abs (crunch) and pick your Right Leg off the water! Your left foot heel did not dig in, you stayed nice and flat on your feet - maintained "the glide." That's what you want!

Yeah I need to grow a pair and stay in good form. I dont do them really ever anymore. I almost always wear shoes when I foot. They do a little better in the not perfect water. I have not footed much at all anyways because our water is really bad. Plus been practicing alot of slalom and trick because of the 3 event tourneys Ive been going to. Actually footed last night and got my foot off the water. I dont think I fell back but I put it down again pretty quick.

And I, his partner in training wasn't there to witness it. Which means I wasn't driving. Which means.....uh oh, Andy, we might have just stumbled upon the difference.

I am not sure but ai think some key contributors were-
1. Patience
2. The wake. You notice that I ended up in the curl after crossing over almost no wake as opposed to the ski nautique wake.
3. Patience

If you've been paying attention this summer, you know Greg and I have been working on this together since late april He made giant strides the other day as shown in his two videos above. I wasnt with him. So I head up to his place today with Greg eager to help me catch up. I didn't run quite a long as he did, but I'll take it. I had about 4 runs like this then it was steadily down hill. But still, it was a very good week for us. Thanks for the pulls and guidance today, Greg.

Does anybody have recommendations on new suits? I ripped the side out of the one I have and need a new one. Was thinking on a new eagle one. The BI ones are cheaper but kinda ugly I think even though they are probably still pretty nice.

I have had a few suits over the years. I have not had an Eagle. I have had BI and they are indestructible. Not pretty, but they have heavy padding, super strong zippers/seams. I have one now that is a couple of years old. My last BI lasted 10 years.

Yeah I was maybe thinking about those but I like the look of the eagle. My buddy has one and he loves his. It seems pretty durable. I had an old one from TrBenj and I loved it. The thing fit great. Ripped it bad this morning tho.

My old suit was a MT, FYI. I have a few eagles that are now 10-12 years old... No complaints about them but I'm not so sure id buy another new eagle now. BI's don't look like much but wear like iron.

Tumbles can be tough on older/worn suits and vice versa. A fresh, tight suit (plus shorts) will make a big difference.

I do good until the hip switch. That is where I have problems. Im just going to go and practice 180s and regular tumbles on the boom next time I get a chance. It so frustrating because you see videos of ppl who can barely get up and they do them easy it seems.

Last LL Tumble Fail Video
It is really shakey its on a wakeye mount. Not the best. But it looks like I get to where I should swap hips and before I can it just flips me over. This has been happening and idk why.
Also sometimes I get it to the other hip and I pull and I flip over to the other side.
Do I need to pull the handle up higher to allow my body to be more under so I can get the inside hip up?
