Grateful Dead, Allmans, Gov't Mule, Dave Matthews Band, Jack Johnson, Clapton, 90% is live shows.
Any band that can take a perfectly good 5 minute song and play it for half an hour, keeping it interesting the whole time, is all right with me. |

We were watching VH1 one night and Angus was on with his cigarette and cup of tea showing clips of one of their shows. My 23 year old says "thats one ugly 8th grader" Kind of stuck in the 80's myself, Rush,The Cult, The Police and since I'm an Illinois boy,Cheap Trick |

Queen, even though he was a p smoker, he has some pipes go figure, actually Freddy was born and raised in India (red dot india) but i caught one of his shows on VH1 and his drummer was unbelievable, his entire drum set which consisted of about 100 drums on a 360 degree turntable and it would turn, a 20 minute solo, just about killed the guy
Cant beat Angus. on the guitar Kristoff, Prince really... he does get the grade A though |

yes its a 77. It was my first car back in 82. I never get rid of anything. Rebuilt it a few years ago with a 500+ hp 455 and a tremic 5 speed. I used to think it was fast back in the day, but now it really is. If you follow the boat link in my sig and look at the other albums, I like toys.
I got one of them Ipod things for Christmas, so I been digging out all my cassete tapes and trying to figure out how to put them on it... Motley Crue,ACDC, Joe Walsh, Nugent, Y&T, Whitesnake, autograph, scorpoins Reads like 80s day on VH1. It just kils me that its all labeled classic rock now. My parents used to worry about the metal, now dad thinks its funny i listen to the classic rock station, still does not like it though! Honestly i do like some of the newer stuff, I just cant listen to it with the kids around. The BYR's local fort wayne rock stations format is to much into dope smoking and foul language that I dont listen to it at work or with the kids around, kid of why i switched to satellite radio, more music less yacking. |

Sean,my first car was a 1977 Grand prix LJ, hurst edition, probably around 1980, 301 ci, I put keystones and air shocks on it. Its still around, my friend wound up with it down the street, he's the one that drove into his garage door and knocked it down and wound up in jail for the year, the house is in fore closure and I drive by the house everyday and there it sits in the garage, black on black, man does that thing bring up some memories. the times that i would have a 12 er on the passenger seat and get pulled over, and the locals would say, Eric get your a-- home

I ditched the 8track, that ws to 70s, upgraded to the alpine cassette deck. 220hp with the high output 400 and i ditched that for a 72 455 i found with a cam and high compression pistons. Witht the Hurst 4 speed it was a ride.
I hear ya, I got pulled over a lot but rarely got a serious ticket. I like to drive it up to the lake, park it out front of the old school cottage with the 75 out back, kinda completes the package for me. |

I came go back to when my favorite, and still is, was traveling with the Les Brown big band and later went into the movies. Her name was Doris Day. Time, later 40's early 50's.
Also, June Chrisy who sang with the Stan Kenton organization in this same time frame. Saw them at Purdue several times while I was in school. Kenton made a live LP from one of his road shows at Purdue. It was great to meet those musicians for I was also playing with a couple of big bands in the local area. One of which I got do a USO SHOW in Europe the summer of 1960. What a GREAT time. Not a better place to perform than for a group of military. We played on 48 bases. Would be fun to do over. |

Acca Dacca another great Aussie export. My nearly 18yo even thinks their cool. She is also a Pink Floyd fan. I think music parenting can have its benefits.
All Summer Long is already copied onto our music media for the boat. Funny you mention Prince Kristof "Purple Rain" was requested in our boat music for last season. I never really got into Prince but by the end of last season I was even beginning to enjoy Purple Rain. |

Chuck, I havent had to listen to Manilow or the Carpenters since I got Pam on the "hook"! As for music, depends on my mood ...always any blues or southern rock.... SRV, BB King, Clapton, Tinsley Ellis, Kenny Wayne Shepperd, Skynard, etc... Also have to get the Jethro Tull, ZZ Top, Alice Cooper, Uriah Heep, etc. out. (is my age begining to show?) |

No Country and Western here. I listen to most of what's been listed here. Some of my CDs and Albums:
Buddy Holly, Elvis, Roy Orbison, George Benson, Kiss, Styxx, Eagles, Kansas, Foreigner, ELO, 38 Special, Pat Travers, The Cars, Oingo Boingo, The Pretenders, The Plimsoles, The Bangles, Missing Persons, The Go Gos, Pat Benatar, CSN&Y, Black Sabbath, The Clash, Sex Pistols, X, Black Flag, the Dead Kennedys, Social Distortion, Wall of Voodoo, B52s, Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, Toy Dolls, Jimmy Buffet, Elton John, Madness, Bob Marley, Bubba Sparks, Custom, Green Day, and about 400 others which are all over the map and which I rarely have time to listen to anymore. Seems like its news radio and whatever my wife has on the radio these days. BKH |

Queen is one of the greatest bands of all time, and Freddy one of the greatest singers ever. However, Roger Taylor is pretty much all show and no go on the drums in my opinion. Nothing special. |

I have to agree M3, i just thought it was funny that Freddy was born and raised in India, sorry about the other comments, call em like i see em,
I guess there is some showmanship with Taylor, no one compares to the Bonham clan your from Libertyville? Federal Marine is over there...watch that guy, he likes to dig deep and confuse you with specs |

Hard to disagree with the majority of the music already mentioned as my collection is all over the board but to kapla's original question... take a liston to Ozomatli. if you can find it buy the DVD/cd set from a couple of years ago. Throw a party and crank it till the windows rattle, eveyone will be saying "who is this anyway" they've been around the LA scene for years and have finally made it to mainstream. Joel being a guitar player I wonder have you ever heard anthing from a band called Driveblind? Scotish band I think you'ld like. |

I now have electric for the LP. Even have some of the original charts from when I was playing in the bands. Was in FL last wk and was going to give you a call; however, it was a quick turn-around taking my 88 yr old in-laws back home. Was in FL only 2 days doing repairs to their home in Ft Myers. Hope to get back that way come first of the year or early spring. Is there still talk of maybe a get together for us snow birds in late March, after our boats are out of winter storage? |

Sorry that you did not have the time for a visit Steve...next time.
As far as the March thing....I have gotten way to busy running our thrift store the past 2 months to put in the legwork. Looks like we are gonna settle for a re-run of the St. Johns river trip we took last year with Reid's posse. Awesome day trip. We will try to get some area info on. The date will be the 14th of Febuary. john |

Ah Oasis, forgot about those guy's, even the clash. I also caught Niel Young on the tube yesterday....music with a message, its easy to appreciate a guy who writes his own music and lyrics and then picks up a different instrument to play his music
the Who, great bassist that John E. |

Lewy - My favorite Aussie export is Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, although I'd much rather look at Natalie Imbruglia or Naomi Watts.
XXXX or VB would be my favorite export, but I can't get it here. The damn shame of it is that I can get Vegamite. Some things just are not fair... |

Anyone want to see a great show, check these guys out when they come to your area. They've been touring for a couple years and are incredible. I've seen them the past 2 years and boths times a 3.5 hour show with no breaks.

The Who is a band that will never be replicated. Pete Townshend, John Entwistle and Keith Moon comprised the only band that could all essentially solo concurrently and somehow still make a right brilliant song out of the chaos. Genius, they were, and underrated today.

Could not agree more. I saw The Who 9 years ago, and they still kicked it. Roger Daltrey rocked like a 20 year old. |
