It is cool to have a boat or boats near you when you're racing. We had the Wolfpack on our butts most of the way down. On the way back, the Corvette boat was on us until we had the mandatory fuel stop. They had made the stop on the way down.
At one point in the race, the red Mastercraft cut in front of us while I was footing. I made it through their wake, but they didn't fair too well with the BFN wake.

With only 3 footer (and all rookies) I think we did well. I'll be in better shape next year now that I know what its all about.
I have more pictures I will post when I get time....

Also Mike just had knee surgery two week ago.

Nice pics Steve. That was a great time.
We took 8th out of 13 teams with a time of 1 hour and 17 minutes. Our other team couldn't finish because one of their footers hit some debris and sliced his foot. Ended up with 7 stitches. The winning team ran the 38 miles in 52 minutes. Their first footer did the entire 19 mile first leg, at 47mph. It's the first time I've been in a race that Top Gun did not win. They were second at 55 minutes.

Looked like one heck of a time. Save Kevin Klosterman's photos on Facebook. Looked like a great turnout and pretty decent weather/water.

Man, I'm too old for this. As the night goes on, my body is stiffening up. Hopefully my wife will help me out.    That was a freakin' great time. Next year, CCFan will be well represented by us with a raffle prize and sponsorship. This race is turning into the best race in the country. Thanks to Bmac and his sexy wife Cara

BTW, we're going to stick a GoPro camera on the bow of the boat to video the start. I hope to upload it next week.

Rolling out of here in three hours. Stopping in Maumee for some beer that we can't get in Michigan (21st Ammendment's Hell or High Watermelon, and Back in Black). We'll see you guys at Rick's around 8:30. I would say look for the guy with the Nautique gear, but considering half the teams are running Nautiques..oops..Correct Crafts, that might be tough. I'll be the guy in the Made In Detroit shirt.

If you need a footer, I'm sure there will be extras at the race.
Are you using Steve's 86?

Were using a '93 196. I would like to bring the 176 but the pylon mount is cracked off of the hull.

Steve,

One of our guys cut his leg and the doc told him to stay out of the water for a week so we are down to 3 guys right now including 86BFN. I'm trying to get another guy right now.... if you guys want to combine two boats into one or something....that might be the best thing. I guess we can figure it out tommorow evening.

How many guys are on your team?
We might be running with only 4 guys on Burning Soles.

Just a visual..

Steve.. I know he does we talked about it at Lockwood.. We're a bunch of farm boys down here so beers flow at the fairground infield for all the events.. I'll be working on a tractor, cleaning up the track after each pull otherwise, we would pregame at my place..

Let me know if you guys need or want any other direction

Thanks for the heads up. We'll be dropping in from the north to GRap, drop off the boat, and cross at the 109 bridge (I think).
Where do you live? How stocked is your beer fridge?
One of my guys works on the GM diesel program (cold testing) and drives a big freakin Duramax. Problem is, he's not allowed to tow. Too bad, he could have towed our second boat.

Hey guys just a heads up.. our County Fair kicks off Friday, so if anyone is coming up St. Rt. 108 it's gonna be a zoo.. the town will be busy. If your coming down st. rt. 110 into Napoleon from Grand Rapids, the Perry St. Bridge (the main bridge thru Napoleon) will be packed to the gills.. so it would be best if you crossed at the 6 bridge, or the 109 bridge and brought st. rt. 24 into the north side of town. Exit at the St. Rt 108 exit come south on 108/Scott St.

The Fair grounds is a mile south of downtown on St. Rt. 108

Also, Friday night is the Diesel Stock truck pulls.. Not sure if Tim is still into the Duramax stuff.. but the local boys will be pulling their trucks. Just a side note.
