Good to hear Steve hope to see you and the hard work you've done to restore the boat.

Thurs- Welcome to the Ruckus Party at "Shell Island" possibly the Silver Glen then off to The Essex for an overdose of great Fried food.

Fri- Trailer boats to Moss Bluff Dam to Run the River to the Dora Boat show. Dinner at the Blackwater Inn

Sat- Watersports to your hearts content and a trip to the Silver Glenn Springs for a good time and close ups of members boats with the Cookout at Parramores Sat Night.

Sun - More River antics and trailering home for those who made the trek there.

Bottom line is that the only Plan in Place is to Run the River on Friday to the show and Sat night cookout. Other then that it's whatever people wanna do,

Just a reminder to all those attending this years’ event…The official Coozie of the River Ruckus will be available for purchase as you can never have enough and you’ll never know who will have one or where they’ll end up.

I do not know who this young lady is or where she got a Ruckus Coozie but a co-worker who was tailgating at a Grateful Dead Concert in Atlanta saw her walking around, recognized the coozie and asked her if it was okay to take her picture to show me.

Might’ve been some confusion before, well I know I was with local stories, but there will be temporary docks as I seen them this morning. Whether or not the docks are for boats in the show or visitors I do not know. I know sometimes the show folks are unfriendly pecker heads closing the docks of for water bound visitors.

Not necessarily calling ACBS folks peckerheads. But whoever’s genius idea it is to close the docks, well it’s their glass slipper that fits. Whether it’s boardmembers, common vote, or the city, I don’t know. Seems dumb to bring temporary docks to an annual event that annually closes docks to boaters. Our group lost interest in going because we can’t dock. That’s ~12 people, 2 boats, $120 plus whatever else we would’ve bought.

In a conversation with Terry Fiest who's in charge of the event, he is the one who told me that this years show was land locked as the hurricane took care of the docks. He has extended an open invitation to us as a group as they want us back. The gate price is $10 a head but for us CCFans it will be $5. They are accommodating us! They don't have to and are allowing us to come via water to attend the show. I think you calling them pecker heads is way over the line.

We've been going to this event by water for a couple years now and have never had a problem getting there via water. True that we've had to beach boats but NO one has had an issue doing it. MOST actually prefer it as the lake is always choppy and our classic CC's aren't getting beat up. you haven't attended the Ruckus the last couple years and haven't made the trip with us so I'm not sure where you're getting your Intel from.

I’ll apologize for calling whoever closes the docks a pecker head. As far as my intel on them being unfriendly and closing the docks is coming as a first hand resident of the chain who has been turned away and repeatedly seen others turned away from the docks.. The L shaped dock in my screen name photo always provided superior wind protection on the inside. Had a few members pm me, some local, some not, say they turn down the show too because unnecessary dock closures when there’s vacant space. And up until the past year shoreline access wasn’t very smooth and available.

Are we going to show on Friday and if so are we going via trailers?

Putting Boats in the water at Moss Bluff Dam Friday morning and driving 25 miles via water to the show... The woodies are on trailers this year as the hurricanes trashed the docks last year

There is very little shore line to beach therefore I hope someone is bringing a heavy anchor to do single boat anchor and raft on both sides.   use one boat for shuttle.

Just booked flights into Orlando for Thur. am. 10:37 arrival on the ticket, but who knows with this crazy Cleveland weather. Maybe rethinking the car rental as there would probably not be a drop off in Astor. I am almost guaranteed a ride back to Orlando on Sunday. To make a long story short May call out for help with a ride to Parramores on Thur.

Muddy soft bottom about 5 feet from shore. I always suggest to all who attend to bring an anchor and fender tenders with you so that anchoring won't be a problem on the river, in the Glenn or at the show. Bungee anchor lines are the best thing going. Toss the anchor out and use a long dockline to a tent stake on shore if you have to.

Along with the bumpers and anchor's pack a few SAM's Surface to Air Missiles.. Should be exciting. Has Jackie Deen ever barefooted through a bombing run?.
