Gary,
The boat is in our diaries 58
It's been modified from original so much it's hard to tell what model it was from the factory! The guy who did the "restoration" must have been into detailed woodworking more than he was into boat restoration. It's pretty from looking at the pictures but unfortunately boats like this can be VERY difficult to sell. He'll need to find someone who will buy it simply for the "bling".

I was curious about Glen Cove Boatworks so I did a search and didn't come up with any results. I wanted to see what other projects they did. From the looks of the deck and dog house it looks like they are into making cedar strip epoxied canoes. I've got a feeling that the pictures are at least a couple years old so I'd love to see how the boat looks now.

The engine is interesting! To my knowedge, it was never a block commercially marinized. I'd have to say with the blower on it, it wouldn't be the easiest to tune and keep running.

Normally I HATE posting ebay links since it increases exposure and drives up the price... but here is one item that Im pretty sure would be otherwise overlooked. This is the late 60's/early 70's 3-spoke plastic steering wheel:

steering wheel on ebay

Obviously it needs to be painted (white/cream) and its missing the insert that CC used, but the wheel itself is correct. Just in case anybody is looking for a replacement. The shipping appears expensive, but if you select either parcel post or UPS ground, it becomes more reasonable.

Ya gotta not like boats to let that much decay happen.

What a shame.

Are these guys dreamimng?!     $6500 opening bid on a 67 SN . Looks like a pretty solid boat, but really needs a complete restoration. Advertising 217 hours? Looks to me like the Hobbs hour meter is not original?   Also, the 318 is a Poly...must be an early 67?

.Could be a nice ride, but I think a little overpriced?

The person that donated the boat to charity probably told them it was worth this amount of money so he could get the tax write off.

Not sure how to post the links but this look like it could be an interesting project for someone on the left coast. 91 Sanger. The price is right so far.

David,

That is pretty cheap right now but at the same time when you read the fine print what is good on the boat? Submerged vessel, electronics are shot, engine and tranny were not pickeled, upholstery - floor - and stringers are rotting away if not now they will need repair soon, the trailer is not included, windshield is fractured. It is becoming a huge restoration project in lieu of an expensive paper weight at this point. Lastly and most importantly it is not a CC. Thanks for the link though and I am glad that it is on the west coast because usually the huge projects are the ones that I always seem to get myself into. This one would have been right up my alley if it were closer and goes for $500 or less.

Hobby Boats can be expensive when the hobbyist is limited on their own skill and expertise.
