Jeff,
Look'n great!! I'm anxious to find out what that thing will do WOT!! The stock V drive Separators's would keep up with the Donzi 16's!!

You have the hull side decals yet? I see the gel ghosting so you'll need the bigger original sized "since" decal to cover it up.

Jeff,
Check with Pauley on the "since" decals to make sure they are the larger ones. I don't know if he's come up with them yet on his own. There was a time when he was getting them from me. I still have a couple sets just in case.

The original size next to the ones that are commonly available,

Jeff,
Yes, the originals were year specific The reproductions are year generic. I don't know but you may need to have them made!

Very good job Jeff.   Now that's what you guys should be seeing in your lay-up. Clear and transparent! Thats when you know you have achieved maximum adhesion.

love the backing plate, some think with rotted transoms the drive will blow right thru the boat, it will actually pull from the boat. nice job, do you have the merc cathode system?
do you have the new round transom seal? it is round when its new and fits in the groove

if you change the gimble bearing, the one from merc no longer has a grease hole to grease it, normally i will get the bearing from napa because that one is still a greasable bearing...i think we also talked about the alignment tool, i see them on e-bay often for 20 bucks, the bearing is a spherical bearing and the inner race will move and often throwing the mechanic off while aligning, very critical to get these drives aligned properly, if you know this already, dis-regard

if i were to build a boat like this, there is nothing you are doing that i would change, i for one am very impressed at the work you are doing and the the added strength you are adding to the drive line

also, make sure the splines on your drive coupling are intact, its the piece that is a damper like molded rubber that bolts to the flywheel, change many of those over the years because they are aluminum splines, pack it with never sieze on install

take my word also on putting a new (merc) shift cable from the drive up, if they drag one bit the boat will hit the interupter switch and stall out going into reverse.
sorry for all the babble, but just trying to get you past the learning curve
