I just purchased a 1986 Nautique that needs a lot of TLC: new upholstery, carpets, etc. and would like to find out about sources for these items and others. Original hours on the engine are 852 which does not seem bad for the year and it does run good. My goal is to do a complete restoration. Any suggestions would be a big help. Thanks.

peter,
I am not an expert but here goes.... you can get the original patterns for your upholstery from two places. Any one regional nautiqe dealerships. I ordered some of mine through Mid-West Correct Craft (Bruce). You can do a search for one of the site sponsors Christine's Nautiques and find some great positive comments. Anything else (decals, parts, etc)you need you could also get from your local nautique dealer or MWCC or SE(southeast)CC(Woody). My family has ordered from both and have had great experiences. the others will chime in. It would probably be helpful if you listed what exactly you need. Welcome to the site. It is a great help! I am sure |

Thanks for the help - I was going to contact my local dealer but was not sure if correct craft was still producing parts for the older models. I will start an assesment of what I will need for a complete restoration this week. The hull needs some glass work which will be done first. My original thought was to repower but with 852 hours on the engine I think I will just install an electronic ignition and go on from there. I'm one of these nuts that would rather work on boats than ride in them!
Really glad I found this site - Peter |

My '86 is pushing double that, no need to repower. |
