I need the ring (threads into pole) for the top of the ski pole for my '68 barracuda. At some time in the past someone replaced the ring with a lifting eye.I removed the eye and want to replace it with the correct part. Does any one have one or know of a source. Also, the boat has 210 hp 318 Chrysler. I have the specs to adjust the valves but don't know if these spec are for engine at operating temperature or cold. I would like to ajust them with out un winterizeing the engine if possible. Any input /help is apprieciated. Thanks Jim/ Barr68

Good luck on this one. If I needed that part I would probably have it fabricated, polished, and chromed. My guess is a sympathetic fab shop could do it for a couple of hundred dollars.

Bend the appropriate diameter cold rolled steel rod into a circle, weld the vertical bar into the center and a base, polish it with a high speed hand held polisher, and send it to a chrome plating house. You have to really want it though.
Let me know your email address if you want a close up pic of mine.

The manual for that engine is in the reference section. Good luck with the ring. I would try old time marinas or dealers to see if they might have a used one. Try callig Blue Ridge in Lynwood Wa they had the manifolds for the old 318 they may have some old ski rings.

Try marinehardware.com They don't list anything like the ring in their catalog, but I am sure they would have the resources to make it the way it should be.

I ran into the same problem, I found a used one at Central Valley Marine in San Jose, ca. Someone sawed off the original one to put a higher pole on.

The guys in the service dept at South East Correct Craft do a good bit of Refurbing old Correct Crafts. Give them a call for more ideas if you need.
