Kenny,

Your boat looks great; I love that water shot. You will really enjoy those vents on the front windows on hot days, they offer a nice cool breeze and an occasional dump of lake water on a big roller while your idling.

Thanks to all, I hope to get the interior looking as good as the outside does. I've got a lot of work to do on the floor, carpet and the upholstery.

Chuck- I already appreciate those vents. This was only the second time we had the boat out and I forgot they were even there on our first trip. It was in the upper 90's on the day the picture was taken and it made a difference having them open.

Kenny, Great looking!! Are you going to put the red "astro turf" back in? Did you find any? It's tough to find. I did find the blue for my Tique but I don't think Capri carpet carries it anymore. They do have a web site. Them heat stamped pattern in the vinyl seats can be stitched in by the upholster. It's the closest you can come to the original.

Pete-Haven't really looked for the carpet yet, as was suggested to me in the thread I started on carpet replacement. As I stated there, I think I am going to have to do some major work on the floor so I am just going to live with the carpet as is for the rest of the summer. I would like to go as close to original as possible. I want to think the seats and doghouse have been recovered at some point. Pete, what does the pattern look like?

I have asked the PO who had the boat for 10yrs about its history but he hasn't offered up much detail. The Ski Tique has been painted on the sides of the boat and a reasonable job was done on this but I have the feeling the deep burgandy color is not the original, I don't think it matches the standard brochure colors anyway. The Correct Craft was painted on the rear of the boat also but is not very neatly done. Another area I would like to 'correct' in the future.

62 wood-I'll give more details later.

Kenny, I just did a quick look in the diaries and found this picture of the original heat stamped center section of the seats. You can do some searching too. I know there are some better pictures. Some of the rear seat as well. As mentioned, the pattern can be duplicated with real stitching.

The hull side graphics would have been originally painted with "safety red". They used Rust-oleum and all their "safety" colors.

Pete-Here are my seats, appear to me to have been recovered at some point and in need of it again.

62wood-I found the Tique here on CCF for sale, it was about a hour away from me. I was really looking for an older Nautique but I couldn't pass this one up as I couldn't find a Nautique for sale close by and I could get this one for less $, had a newer trailer, new carburetor, rebuilt engine, some floor work, great looking exterior, etc. I went for a ride with the PO and the boat ran great. I debated for a couple of weeks as to whether I wanted a Tique or not, evidently I did. BTW, just by coincidence we purchased the boat on my birthday!

I grew up around small fishing boats and my Dad had a small outboard ski boat for a while. He sold it before I really got old enough to have an interest in skiing but I did on occasion drive for him to ski (with my Mom onboard of course). We would go to White Lake, NC with these boats and had access to a cottage there for a few years. That is where I was first exposed to the CCs and really admired them then. The look and sound is perfect! Fastforward twenty some years...I caught the bug taking my kids to swim a couple of summers ago at White Lake and seeing (and hearing) these boats again. I decided to go online and look around for an older SN, that's when I first found this site, so I have been lurking here for a while. This is my first ski boat of any kind.
