Just got the 76 in the water again after new belts, thermostat, water pump, oil change etc. Ran great for about 25-30 minutes then all of a sudden it bogs down and quits. It did this over and over again last summer and could never find what the problem was....It will start right up after sitting for about 10 minutes. Thermostat reads 160....Need help and someone who may have had similar problems.
Thanks
pat

did you rebuilt the carb?? it sounds to me like the same symptom that we got on our 86.. carbs flooding. when it does that take the flame arestor of and take a peek in the carb and see if it dripping or pouring (it shouldn't be dowing any of those)

Flooding or starving... can drop a line in a can from your fuel pump to eliminate supply issues.

Check to see if the timing is set too high.

Sounds to me like fuel starvation from tank outlet sceeen, check valve, or vent clogged.

so does it run fine @ any speed for 15-20 minutes
then dies because it won't idle
or requires throttle to maintain 1000 + rpm
to keep it running

or does it die @ any speed after 15 -20 minutes

it starts and runs fine aftr 10 minutes @ any speed and then symptom repeats itself?.........
