Tim,
Have you been to this lake?. The INT League had 2 slalom events there in June. My brother competed on the Saturday they had it. It was great. Smooth water all the time. I think the lots are pretty expensive, and they have a community boat (Ski Nautique)to use. I think they have a membership fee that includes the upkeep of the boat. Hopefully they will have more competitions at this lake. |

Hi J-Bear,
I haven't had a chance to get on much this summer. First I am glad you, Mrs. J-Bear and all the other Florida CC Fans survived Faye. I read some of the forums and read that things were going OK with you guys while she blew through. I know you are glad that is over. Hope you guys did not have any damage. Especially to those CC's. My brother has been trying to kill me this summer. He started competing in the INT slalom league in June, and of course he talked me into competing too. I did the novice competition. It was scary, considering I had never ran a slalom course before. My first tournament was August 4th. I ran my passes and got a trophy (I came in first and last-I was the only one in my division). I came in second last week. I got beat by a 16 year old also competing in her first tournament. She did a great job. It was fun. The wakes sure are different behind a 2008 Nautique compared to a 1970 Mustang. My brother has kept me busy practicing. It must have worked for him also, since he won his division when we competed 08-04. These slalom lakes are great. The only time we have water as smooth as these lakes is if we go out at 7-8am. The Mustang has ran great again this summer. The Lord keeps blessing us. I kmow my dad is smiling down on us. I know he is in a better place, but we sure would love him to be here with us enjoying this boat. I appreciate how you always remember him. Thanks again. I hate there is not going to be a CC reunion this year. Hopefully next year. We would definely try to come down again for it. Again I am glad you guys made it through the storm, and my prayer is you will not have to deal with that again this season. |

Jane: Congradulatons on your new slalom skills! Musta been very cool to get that first trophy. Awful good considering you had never run a course before.
No problems here from Fay. And the '80 seemed to get thru ok too. Just hate leaving her sitting outside but cannot find affordable inside storage. Don't worry...your Dad is still enjoying the Mustang. We too are sorry that there is no reunion. But we might have something ourselves down here so stay tuned. Patti and I did go up to Green Lake...what a awesome time. You should meet some of the people on here. Every one we've met has been great. Take care...greetings to all in your family and keep on enjoying that boat. Hope to see you somewhere. john |
