This is a great article on the GT-40P heads. It does focus towards racing and in depth mods; but the best part is that it covers the compatibility between the gt-40 andgt-40P swap.

I'm doing this to my 77 351w now with gt40p heads, had the bolt holes drilled to 1/2" for $55 and a aluminum intake. We shall see.
